I am using Revolut right now and I am able to have all by bills by card, standing order and direct debit come from my “Revolut bills pocket” and was wondering if this will come to Ireland soon as it seems they have it in the UK?
Hello
We’re actively working on this and hope to enable it for Irish customers very soon. Keep an eye out for it in the Monzo app.
Interesting they are adding this for Ireland- have kept this to the paid version in the UK
Direct debits can be paid from a pot with the free version.
Isn’t the amount for the direct debit transferred back to the main balance and then sent from there
Will card payments from Pot be paywalled like with the UK?
Direct debits and standing orders have always been free for us, but virtual cards are paywalled only.
Yes, and it’s no different for paid plans.
So it’s never actually been paid from pot.
Starling’s version is paid from pot (I know, it’s called a Space
)
Disagree. Starling doesn’t pay anything from Spaces. It’s all one feed but the app separates it.
Revolut however, pays direct from Pocket.
When Revolut pays from pockets how is this different from Starling- I’ve never tried pockets
Pockets have their own section of the bank statements.
You add money to the Pocket, if there’s not enough for direct debits, I think by memory it’ll take from the main account, but card payments will flat decline if there’s not enough money.
You can assign free virtual or physical cards to a Pocket too.
I would like to support this comment if I understand it correctly I am finding it very frustrating that some direct debits cannot be paid straight from a pot and then are declined.
