Donāt banks retry a DD if it canāt be taken first thing? That would cover the balance being transferred in the meantime?
Yeah just checking and looks like a they all agreed to the FCA idea of retry and that includes DDs.
The āretry processā means you have until 2 pm ā as a minimum ā to pay money into the account to cover the payment when itās āretriedā by your bank or building society that day.
I think Iāve done ~20 switches over the years and I donāt recall it ever being middle of the day. Hence the jumping to they have ballsed it up mode.

Iāve done about 12 or 15 switches over the years and most of them have gone through mid-morning. I donāt think Iāve ever woken up and found one thatās gone through in the night.
I had a similar thing with my switch to FD. The DDās and balance had switched over but the account with TSB was still active. But by the end of that day it was no more and I was fully Fād upā¦
Just checked and itās now switched.
Can still login to TSB, the title changes to āPersonal switch out accountā. I assume thatāll close after today.
