What's the Last Bit of Tech You Bought?

Interested to know how you get on with the Freely experience. Do you still get an EPG that shows you what’s on all the main channels then launches you into their streams? Or is it more of a ‘here’s iPlayer, here’s ITVX, here’s 4oD, etc’ kind of thing?

For Apple TV owners this gives an epg experience which also works on sky and now tv etc (you can set apps that you have access to and hide channels I think but I haven’t bothered).

Also you can setup shortcuts on your phone which are pretty powerful.

Curious, for the laptop users out there: What are your essential items for productivity when using your laptop?

Currently for me when I need to do any kind of meaningful data analysis a good mouse comes in handy. I use the Logitech MX Anywhere 3s when I need it.

I’ve also got an MX Anywhere mouse that I use on the go mainly when I am visiting the officeand I also carry a separate keyboard (Mx Mini) as when I’m hooked to a docking station I don’t feel comfortable using the laptop keyboard.

When I am at home I use full size MX Keys with it and an MX Master 3S

When I’m in the office I generally just use my MBA on its own, plugged into a monitor. The keyboard and trackpad are totally fine. I’ve always used Windows machines at work and the biggest difference I’ve found since switching to an MBA is how much I like using it as a laptop. I’m happier saving the weight and not having to carry my nice mouse and keyboard to the office.

When at work, Lenovo 13" Laptop, Wireless mouse (Logitech MX4 master on the way), Dell widescreen monitor, Lenovo USB-C dock with peripherals connected

When at home or travelling, Laptop, Wireless mouse (Logitech MX4 master on the way), external USB-C 15" touch display, PC power brick

I’m a big fan of a second screen. I can cope with a MacBook keyboard and trackpad, but I find an extra display the most useful addition when working.

Tbh I’m finding this with my Surface Laptop 7. Even though I went for the smallest one (13“ version) the keyboard is the most comfortable keyboard I’ve typed on in ages.

Is this to dual screen?

Always heard great things about the Philips Fidelio range of head phones I was gonna for a Philips headphone with a mod mic set up before I decided to go with HyperX

Yea, I’ve been thinking of a similar set up for myself. I just can’t justify it. I’m not online gaming with folks as much anymore. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Ha, I use my PC plenty. Just more an antisocial gamer now. Saw Fractal have an all black version of the North out now and very tempted by it…

Worth an upgrade from the 3? I’m sure it’s nicer, but there’s nothing wrong with mine at all.

Yeah I think I would go for an XL this time tho… they’ve also updated their PSU range. Big fan of the super flexi cables on the Ion one I have now.

But just bought myself a PW4 45mm and the Matte black metal link strap to go with it… No discretionary spending for me for awhile…

I’ve been pondering on a new headset for gaming.

How much was this? Mines about 9 years old now :joy:

While we’re talking about headphones, does anyone have any experience of AirPods Max as a glasses wearer?

I don’t have thin glasses ‘arms’ so am thinking they might not be a good idea?

I’m a big fan of the HyperX Cloud Alpha headphones. Currently have the wireless versions and love them.

They go on offer often too. So worth keeping an eye out.

I’ve actually loved them as the sound in gaming has been pretty decent.

If they wanna bop along to some Tina turner I’m down.

I shall have a look as birthday is coming up
