Welcome to the club, there’s a thread here about 3d printing adjacent stuff - 3D Printing - #5 by o99

Top tips though;

  • A good first layer will determine success of everything.
  • Make sure your belts are tight - stops layer shifting.
  • there’s lots of calibration things you can print to test how well tuned your printer is - the Benchy being one of them.
  • Get to grips with a good Slicer software - Prusa Slicer is my fave.
  • If you fancy it, have a crack at 3d modelling too - you can then pretty much design and print naything you need. Fusion 360 or OnShape are two decent options.
  • Find decent filament with reasonabley consistent diameters. I really like Prusament and Extrudr, but there are loads of good brands out there.
  • 3D Jake is a good webshop that delivers to the UK for printy stuff
