I’m still yet to go on holiday, never had one! Feel as tho life is getting to the point of needing one to fully recharge tho, burnout is real.
Well done, what time did you run to qualify for Boston?
For Malaga area at Easter with family, then same area of Spain in august for our tenth wedding anniversary. Just the two of us in august.
Never? I guess that’s a reality for many these days, they are a luxury (but really shouldn’t be!). If you could go somewhere where would you go?
Enjoy your trip over here to NI in summer, we only 45 mins drive from north coast be up around that area a lot. Ideally would love to retire to that part of the world.
Portugal just after Easter (Faro, Lisbon and Porto)
Then for our main summer holiday, we’re making up for 3 years of travel restrictions and doing a big trip to Istanbul, Tbilisi and Yerevan.
Istanbul will be especially significant, as it will be the 50th country we have travelled to
Thanks! I needed to be inside 3:10 and ran 3:03:20 in Manchester last April.
Sadly I’m now nursing an injury so I won’t get near that in Boston but it’ll still be an awesome experience!
Thanks! I’ve no real itenirary other than the hiking route which is about 100 miles or so (so won’t eat up the 16 days). Anything/anywhere particularly worth a visit?
Just in Copenhagen for the weekend now. Quite like it, but it is so expensive haha. Luckily flights and accommodation were cheap so it softens the blow.
Next month I’m taking my Mum to Naples.
Then probably go to Finland at the end of May/early June.
Lots of options for the rest of year too.
Giants causeway, worth a look and on the coast route anyway. Anywhere on the coast is lovely scenery, you will have a great time.
That’s definitely a focal point!
That was 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, not last year
When did I say that?
A week in Paris (2 nights with friends and 5 on our own) with a night in London at either end of it. First time in Paris since the September before Covid.
I don’t think he said it was last year unless I’m missing something
Would love a little staycation in UK (maybe Bridlington) I’m a carer to my amazing partner and has fond memories there!
The north east coast is another area on my hit list!
By the way, I don’t love how ‘staycation’ has somehow come to mean ‘not going abroad’. A holiday is a holiday! (and a vacation is a thing Americans do ).
Haven’t been for about 50 years but good memories. Used to stay on Pembroke Terrace. Remember taking the land train to Sewerby.
Did you go through a tour operator, or organised this yourself?
Myself. Although ‘organised’ is a strong word - I’ve put the route into the OS map and booked the flights, the rest I’ll work out when there.
