What’s your financial set up?

Does anyone else with both Nationwide and NatWest get confused with the two app designs and take a split second longer than usual to decipher them both?

The colour and design takes longer for me to process!

What is this hocus pocus wizardry :open_mouth:.

Natwest become your new main bank?

When Nationwide changed their logo in October 2023, there were a lot of complaints on social media that the new logo looked too much like NatWest’s logo.

Even more similar for me as I’ve used iOS shortcuts to make them have dark mode icons, but I still don’t get them confused

I use Monzo for my bills and main account. Monzo flex and Amex for my everyday spending and I have hsbc for saving and backup account.

I do this too, but it’s because I’m right handed and my thumb has less distance to travel when holding my phone in one hand :slightly_smiling_face:

Same for my most used app folders. They are on the right side

I’m having similar issues with Barclaycard, who block my account as a matter of course whenever I add the card to Apple Pay on one of my devices.

When I had a similar issue, it was triggered by an Argos purchase I had attempted at 2am. They decline all further purchases I tried to make days later even during day. I had to call and they told me it was the 2am Argos one that flipped bells.

Out of curiosity have you ever had an automatic credit limit increase from VM? I’ve got their Atlantic card but my limit is quite low.

I think I can request an increase after 6 months but my account is set to automatically accept any limit increase.

Well well well. :joy:

How do people rate the Nationwide credit card? Is it fully featured in the app? I know some banks credit cards seem to be stuck in past compared to their debits

Can you see the card in app, freeze, add to Apple Pay etc

No weird payment methods like FD setting up CC as a new payee?

Transaction list same as debit with logos? For a while NatWest only had logos for debit cards not credit cards

All credit cards I have had have basic features but the things to be aware of with the Nationwide card are;

  1. You won’t see card details in the app if it matters to you.
  2. You can’t change DD instruction from the app, you will need to go to browser.
  3. You can initiate BT from the app.
  4. I haven’t seen option to add additional holder in the app.
  5. If you pay off minimum balance early on, they will not collect DD if it was set to collect only minimum.
  6. You can’t temporarily freeze it in the app but can report it lost or stolen
  7. You can set contactless limits in the app

Yes, both watch and iPhone.

You don’t manually set it up, it gets automatically added and you can select it to pay your balance.

Did they call the same number you put on that form they didn’t trust?:grin:

Have to agree, if I was to go back to legacy it would be likely to be Natwest

They have the most “fintech” like app so far imo and they seem to constantly be added features etc to the app

NatWest always impressed me as a high street bank, they’ve done a lot to improve their app and its features.

I’ve moved my spending back to Starling from HSBC, but the bills will likely remain in my HSBC joint account.
