It depends on individual lender. LBG will still take a DD even if you paid off entire statement balance but then used card again. I once paid off full balance to even bring total balance to £0. Then used about £150 by due date, the dd taken covered that whole amount and took me back to £0. The initial statement min balance payment had been in the £200s. I guess they don’t care.
Nationwide and Barclays on the other hand will not take the DD as long as you made the payment about 5 working days before due date.
LBG sounds inconsistent. I paid off the balance within 1 week from the statement date, used it again and my balance 1 week before DD date was lower than the statement so no payment was taken.
For example my statement was produced on 28th December for £405.44, I paid £405.44 by bank transfer on 29th December, Virgin took £21.63 direct debit on 18th January.
Again this month statement was produced on 27th Jan, I’ve paid it in full, yet it still currently says ‘We’ll take your payment of £25 on 16th Feb’.
Maybe if you don’t spend on your card after the statement is produced and you pay it in full then they won’t take a direct debit but if you carry on spending after paying the statement in full my experience is they will always take a direct debit of some sort.
May be they do it on minimum balance set accounts. Mine is on minimum balance payment as I have a promotional offer running.
And yes several weeks before it was taken it was showing min payment remaining as £0.
VC will be coming soon, Account organise coming for all spaces, Dark mode will be user preference rather than system, users will be able to soon hide tabs on screen for cleaner look, wont be all pushed out at once but some big updates this qtr and next, and some can’t say yet. Altho we have tested sound notification which seems to be working without breaking anything so hopefully that will be out.
