What films do you recommend?

Watched Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman last night would recommend.

Really hits home how fucking stupid people are on this planet and you get to the credits playing real 2017 footage makes you go  :man_facepalming:

Just watched Hidden Figures this evening. Best film I’ve seen in a while

That’s the problem - I can’t. It’s ruined a few, otherwise, good films for me.

Mind you, on balance, British actors generally make a better fist of American accents than the reverse (Damian Lewis, Idris Elba?).

Not sure how I forgot that as it’s one of my favourite films!

Oh, and “Once Upon a Time in America”.

John Wick

Finally got around to watching the first one that had been in my planner for months. Now to find the next two…

Finally watched Mad Max: Fury Road this week and absolutely loved it.

Felt like a modern 90s action chase movie. Just absolutely crazy.

Currently rewatching the black and chrome version which was helpfully a free extra on my iTunes purchase.

Max Max Fury Road is perhaps the best action movie ever made, and Black and Chrome is perhaps the best modern B&W release (beating both Logan (conversion) and The Artist).

It’s bloody good.

(John Which movies are decent also; though I’ve yet to see the third one, but)

I watch very few B&W movies and I was very sceptical but it totally works. The pale skin of the war boys really pops in monochrome.

  • The Big Short --probably the best finance/2008 financial crisis movie I’ve seen.

  • Blade Runner 2049, along with the final cut of the original if you’ve not seen it.

  • ‘Upgrade’

Over The Moon

I very nearly rented the new Power Rangers film  I’ve seen it before it’s total cheese but in a good way. Maybe tomorrow instead, when I just need something for my brain to not understand.

BlacKKKlansman is excellent

I watched Songbird at the weekend, a film about Covid-23 and the world been in lockdown for years.

The timing of this movie does not appear to be in the best possible taste. Maybe would’ve been better to wait until after the pandemic is over before making a movie about years of lockdown?

Last week I watched these, all really good.
One night in Miami (Amazon)
Saint Frances (Netflix)
Random bits of Ocean 11, 12, 13
10 min preview of new Wonder Woman because I cannot pay £16 rental

No because not everyone is going to get up in arms about it. It’s a bloody good film an all.

It’s a cross between the end of the world scenario and a love story
