What films do you recommend?

Looking for suggestions I’m open to most things other than romance / romcom :face_vomiting::mask:

I have just treated myself to the Alien boxset on Google TV & Movies, so I’ve got something to watch for now. Bargain at £30, over the 6 films they’ve got listed for it to get them storage 5 would be £60

Honeyland - it is a documentary about a Macedonian women and her bees.

There’s huge swathes of possibility, even just excluding romcom etc.

The Godfather trilogy is always good.
Das Boot is nice if you don’t mind the subtitles.
The LOTR and Hobbit trilogies (extended editions) are very good too.

I could go on, but those are good and should burn through any spare hours you may have. It’s difficult without specific requirements.

I’ve just read up on that, sounds interesting so it’s getting added to the list

Oh yeah LOTR and Hobbit are certains, I think I’ve watched Das Boot back in the day when DVDs were a thing, I’m sure my mate let me borrow it.

Never managed to get into the Godfather and I’ve tried a few times

It’s probably my favourite film of the last 12 months, so good! Hope you enjoy it

Well, two-thirds perhaps. The final film was a travesty.

Knives Out is probably my favourite film released in the last 12 months.

Just ignore Daniel Craig’s terrible American accent.

It’s a short but excellent film based on the events in 2009 when a pilot landed the plane on the river Hudson . Played by Tom Hanks, it’s on Iplayer
