We're working on a new look for the Monzo app

Have a bug for the account screen using iOS latest test flight version, the round up pot didnt update after 3 full app closures and had to do a full reset session for it to update.

Also took a full app close to update the balance, the update was released after schedluled payments to pots in general so not sure if any delay

Really missing the spent today bit… this needs to come back.

Out of interest @anon72173902 what did this help you with? Just knowing how much you generally spent in that day or used for like a daily budget?

Each to their own - I found it pretty useless. It would be skewed massively by Direct Debits going out, or essential purchases like fuel, that made it an unhelpful statistic. A rolling ‘spent in last X days’ would be more helpful to me, but I can see that everyone has slightly different needs.

@aCCount I totally agree with you, I was just wondering what use case Danny had for it

Just useful to know what I spent that day as a quick glance rather then adding everything up and subtracting from balance also if that figure is higher than normal then I’d have a look through transactions to see what did it.

Also it has been there since day one so dunno why it has gone.

Sorry, my bad! I only noticed the change this morning so I thought maybe it was related.

By that argument, the Pulse graph needs to stay!

Personally never found any real value in a spent today figure. Balance and Left to Spend were much more use.

No as pulse graph was added some time later

We don’t need to have the Pulse graph back!

Would having a rolling tally on the right side of the “Today” “Yesterday” “Monday 22 Apr” help? That way when the day is done and you review your spending from the day before, you can see the total tally for that day?

I think that could be a good way to solve the issue whilst also not being too prominent within the new sleeker interface.

I was talking about the hideous navy colour in-app. This looks much more clean :+1:t3:

Its gone now, let’s not start any petitions to bring it back :rofl:

Here’s a quick mockup, actually looks far nicer than I was expecting. I feel like it now shows a level of hierarchy within the design.

Yay! Thanks

(What can I said, I’m a visionary?)

Genuinely, I think it gives more depth to the layers, and it mirrors the style of the website and the advertising campaign.

Nice mock-up! I prefer a clean/white look though. I always wanted the white joint-account look :eyes: This new design is one better again.

What if you get Monzo Plus and then have the Midnight Sky card :open_mouth: it’d just be a sea above the rest of the transactions!

I would like to just see how much I have spent that day tbh

The only thing I noticed so far is when you scroll down and press the home tab, it doesn’t seem to scroll you back to the top or at least refresh the tab? I was expecting it do something but seems that as you’re already on “home” nothing happens

Yeah I expected it to reset to the default view when you first open.
