We're working on a new look for the Monzo app

It’s calculated as balance minus anything in the Scheduled section of the payments tab (direct debits, recurring payments, etc)

Summary is correct

Yeah today we found the reason for the discrepancy. Some cruft code that was added a year ago to support some older versions.

Ah cool. So this will be fixed soon? Out of interest what is it taking into account to give me a left to spend so much higher?

Yeah hopefully tomorrow! No idea what happened in the calculation. But it was cruft code so no reason to dwell on the past. My left to spend is also messed up. I wish it was what the app is making me believe

Lol. Yeah, Between my personal and joint account I wish that too

So left to spend is back… and is completely wrong. Or maybe the summary is completely wrong. No way to tell without getting a spreadsheet out, so I’m not really trusting the app right now.

Not sure what the bar is signifying at all. It has no scale, I guess it has to be there given the various budgeting modes but it’s kinda useless.

3 taps to get to summary… all seems very clunky. Not really sure I like the way it’s going because I’m getting the feeling it’s all ending up centred around pots (which I don’t use) and summary being hidden functionality.

Thanks! Wouldn’t it be better to use the 31st then?

Two small issues:

  1. I just made a big payment from my JA, and the Summary total has updated on the Summary page, but not on the progress bar on the carousel page.

  2. The names of pots are not shown on the carousel.

I’ve just noticed on the accounts screen that I now have a progress bar with information that doesn’t appear to make any sense - the amount shown isn’t my account balance, or that shown in the summary screen, also 31% of the amount is…? left? used? I also don’t appear to have the new summary stuff being discussed here so don’t think it’s related to that…

In my case, no. Because most bills leave the account after the second salary is deposited.

What works for me with the current iteration of Summary is; with multiple salaries, choose the one that is closest to the other to start the Summary period. My example shows a salary payment on the 26th and another salary payment on the 31st. So I chose to start the Summary period on the 26th, so that it is wrong for only 5 days. If I chose to start the Summary period on the 31st, it would be wrong for 26 days.

Instead of it always just saying ‘Pot’ as I scroll though can we get the actual pot name on there please?

Nowhere on the screen does it say this.

If I’m understanding this right, all pots are displaying the name ‘Pot’ ?

Yep that’s right.

Even if they changed it so that pot appended on the end of the name. EG ‘Savings - Pot’ that would be better.

displaying correctly on iOS

Oh great, so it’s an Android issue?

The screen animation that @nexusmaniac posted earlier shows ‘Pot’ instead of the name too.

On Android this only changed with today’s update and previously all pots displayed their individual name i.e. Bills Pot etc.

I reported this earlier and was told that it is a bug that they are already aware of and it will be fixed on the next release (hopefully)

Any plans to include scheduled pot transfers? My left to spend is always out for a few days until my pot transfers happen.

One observation about the new navigation for joint accounts, I think with a significant number of pots there’s potentially an issue of burying the JA behind the current account as follows:

:arrow_right: CA - Pot (CA) - Pot (CA) - JA - Pot (JA)

Would there be any issues with opening on your current account as normal to swipe left through pots and connected cards, but then you can swipe right from your current account into the joint account and its connected pots, e.g.:

Pot (JA) - JA :arrow_left: :arrow_right: CA - Pot (CA) - Pot (CA)

That way you have easy access to both accounts and a distinct separation?

(I don’t have/use a JA, but discussing with a friend who does)
