Same here - nothing appears on my credit report.
Monzo only report to Transunion and your account shows whether you have an overdraft or not.
Would be nice to know how much it would cost monzo to be registered with one vs two vs three
Is it in their help guides?
I only have a monzo account at the moment and signed up for Vodafone broadband no issue
Not really then.
This talks about them using a credit reference agency, not reporting to one
Thatâs fairly conclusive.
It may be conclusive but itâs not common knowledge what the effects of that are and how it would/may affect the average person.
To flip your argument, if this was such a large issue that it would seriously affect the average person negatively, would it not be common knowledge?
Or wouldnât Vodafone just check another CRA?
I donât have a horse in the race as Iâm not affected, but this forum isnât filled with people desperate for Monzo to report to more CRAâs, itâs almost like one of those âitâd be niceâ things.
Not sure Vodafone are conclusively at fault given they approved me without issue and I only have monzo
I would assume that the issue wouldnât be that commonplace at all considering a minute percentage of the population would have any issue as they are with the major high street banks
Iâve noticed on two occasions when getting finance since moving to a new bank the application is no longer processed automatically. This never happened when I was with Santander.
Presumably they canât see my bank account so Iâve had to send a copy of my bank statements. Not end of the world but does slow the process down.
You definitely make a valid point but it hasnât stopped me getting finance yet.
Exactly, my question is why would people compromise on this to go with Monzo over a high street bank? And why wouldnât Monzo focus on making sure their customers have the same chances as going with a high street bank considering theyâre trying to beat them?
While I agree with the sentiment here that Monzo should update more CRAâs, as has been mentioned before theyâre hardly the first financial organisation to stick to just one.
There are some other factors to consider, each organisation has its own âscoringâ system and while Iâm definitely not saying that people didnât experience issues and Iâve a lot of sympathy for that, there is a chance that other factors play a part also.
Itâs also worth bearing in mind that if you close a bank account it can impact your credit worthiness , which is what happens when you switch. Your old account gets moved to settled and this can impact your ability to get credit elsewhere for a while.
To flip the question around a little, Why wouldnât vodafone focus on making sure their potential customers get checked against all 3 CRAâs so that they have the same chances aw the other mobile phone networks considering theyâre trying to beat them? If you like Monzo and the experience youâre getting but are not yet a customer of Vodafone so donât have any loyalty to them, why not just pick a different mobile phone network?
I get the problem, but like others in this thread it seems to me much more of a vodafone issue than a Monzo one here.
Iâm also in the position of not really wanting my data thrown at multiple companies for the same purpose. I havenât knowingly agreed that any CRA can have any of my data (Iâm sure Iâve signed up to it though) so minimising the spread of this doesnât worry me at all.
Thanks everyone for your responses - just wanted to see what everyoneâs viewpoint was.
Itâs in the privacy policy (which make up the terms) that Monzo will share your data with CRAs
