Virtual cards to physical cards

Virtual card
It would be great to have the option to order a physical card with the virtual card details

For me I would like to create a VC and give my daughter-in-law a physical card to access a pot assigned to that VC. I would be happy to pay a fee for the generation of an actual plastic card.

I. A then drop money into the pot and my daughter be able to use the card to access funds.

Daughter or daughter-in-law? You mention both.

What you’ve described is more or less Monzo’s Under-16 account, which is rolling out now, and you can join the waiting list for in the app.

If you’re talking about an adult, then I think the best option would be for them to get their own account (or a prepaid card from elsewhere) and transfer them the money.

No bank allows you to share your bank card and pin with another person, it’s for personal use only and is a breach of terms and conditions.

Having said that, the child account does exist in this format, though not sure how long before this rolls out to everyone.

Revolut also allows multiple cards to be ordered, and you can set a spending limit to each card - reports have the option to assign that card to a pocket and solely spend from there (I don’t have this option on iOS).

Also Starling Kite is a kids account and the Connected card option is very much what you’re possibly asking for.

Hello, is that the police? Can you come and arrest everyone in the world, please? Thank you, I’ll be waiting at the door with my wrists out.

Don’t be a dick, it’s just facts (excluding joint accounts and additional card holders, the latter not supported by monzo).

It’s probably the second most ignored fact in the world (after the one about not putting cotton buds in your ears) and I still don’t know anyone who’s had their bank account closed for letting someone buy the shopping in the supermarket cos they had to the toilet.

Willingly giving your card and pin away exposes you to fraud, which is a risk event, and the banks frown upon.

So while not common, it is possible closures can and do happen off the back of negligence.

It’s a rule created to prevent fraud and protect the bank. You’re giving your rights away and people know that. Telling someone they can’t give their kids their details is a little pointless.

They can simply open the kid an account of their own?

Absolutely, you’ll see a  next to your original comment because I agreed with part of it.
