I really don’t care, until…!
you even suggest of taking away the hot coral

Hot Coral is hot either vertical or horizontal. :sunglasses:

From spending time on this fourm one thing I can almost guarantee is that monzo staff will be paying attention to our suggestions and thoughts :thought_balloon:

Whether or not anything gets acted on is another thing, but knowing our posts are read / considered is what adds to this being a great community.

Mr Monzo would need to change too

As would the accounts page (I quite like the way N26 does it)

I think the portrait cards look really nice and would signify the diversion from traditional banks.

For what it’s worth, I don’t see any particular reason why the physical card and the depiction of the card (e.g. in the app and Apple Pay) need to be the same orientation. We’re moving past the point where the physical card is king – as long as they really really clearly share the same visual language, orientation could be based on context.

Impressive how passionate people are about the orientation of their card. I get maybe colour but the orientation? :man_facepalming:

I think there are things a bit more time worthy

Eh, any old schmo can use the paint pot tool and one bright block colour is as good as another. Rethinking established standards is much more interesting. That kind of thing is what Monzo is all about after all.

Do you not see your full balance on the home screen? I haven’t fully switched yet so not sure.

You do yes, but there is another tab to the app which calculates what you’ll have left to spend each month based off your income minus pedicted amount of any bills. it then takes this amount and predicts if you’ll use up all the remainder of your income that month based off spending habits.

It’s bad enough when people question if your card is legit based on it’s colour, I can see some merchants freaking out and trying to refuse vertical design cards thinking they’re fake…

With everything on the back (number, name, CVV number) all you would need is take one picture to use a card fraudulently…

Edit: I see this has been mentioned already, but still, having your CVV in-app only seems a pain.

But you can already do this? It’s a little bit more difficult granted but due to the embossed characters it’s not impossible to take one picture of the back and have every bit of information.

If anything the removal of some information (expiry) from the card does make it more secure

Good point, but what I’d seen on the starling re-design was everything, including expiry date, all neatly laid out for someone.

In fairness I’ve seen designs both with or without the expiry, but the point still stands that it’s no less secure than most existing cards.

I wouldn’t be totally against a card with most of the information removed tbh. I have my account information in the app :man_shrugging:

Hi,

My Starling card has just arrived. Sorry :monzo: :broken_heart:

Have a look at the vertical Starling card in the packaging:

Here is the reverse with the printed card numbers. As they are not raised it will be good to see how they age/last. Interestingly, the mag stripe of the Starling card is much thinner than most cards.

I am in the middle of creating a thread about (mainly wasteful) packaging (not only starling) and when done I will add a link here.

Best,

There is no way your card number is 00000000000000000000 :joy:

You must have some good editing skills

Try and buy something under my name with that card :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Photoshop :innocent:, thanks

Don’t you think that contactless sign should be on the front of the card?

Edit: Anyway, it is a great looking card! In Monzo’s league now, maybe a notch above it, more modern!

I think it would look nicer on the front
