Upgrade (Migration) Updates

Fair, for one the majority who refuse, probably don’t even use it. The kind who just saw it as a travel money card, for example.

I don’t think they will need to convince anyone to upgrade. They will just give them two options on the last day:

1: Click here to upgrade to a Monzo current account
or
2. Click here to go to Starling’s website to sign up for a free forex account

I don’t think that is constructive as Starling is a sole currency account. However with Monese and Fire you can hold both Euro and Pounds so they would be more appropriate suggestions.

I got to upgrade last night :tada: I entered my ID and done the selfie video, which is a really nice process  but the ‘were verifying your account’ animation has frozen and been stuck overnight, even if I force quit the app and reopen it. Is this normal?

My wife was in the same situation since yesterday afternoon, but all ok this morning, Card on way.

Hi Dans1
When that happened with me, I’ve just deleted the app and reinstalled it and it seemed to have worked!

Hi Daniel

My upgrade was in the verifying state for just over 24 hours. I was told by COps that due to demand it could take a while. So you need to be a little patient if you can

Migration banner came through for me yesterday, I’m a long time prepaid user. Went well except from the first screen reappearing the first few times I pressed to get started.

Hoping I get me some coral core card :+1:t2:

thought this may be the case! i will just have to be patient! :fearful: just thought it was a bit strange that the animation was frozen!

The first screen is actually 3 slightly different screens. It expands each bullet point out each time you hit next.

I feel the UX/copy needs work here as loads of people are missing these bullet points.
Also nowhere (afaicr) does it assuage current PP users (esp those not watching the forum / social media like hawks) that the CA can be used in exactly the same way (well, when topping up reappears) as the PP account and that they’re not being railroaded into something more scarily financial.

I did the upgrade today and I must say I am surprised how buggy and unpolished it is.

As everybody mention, the first screen showed 4 times.

The part that was the most annoying/surprising is that once I did all the steps, there was no way to close the upgrade screen. The only button on the screen said, “My Card Arrived”. That really confused me, because that looks like I can’t use my Monzo account before I receive the new card.

Ah okay. The excitement probably just made spam a ‘next, next finish’ mentality

Anyone else noticed or is experiencing after upgrading that all the budgeting in the pre-paid is gone. The budgets have gone to 0 for previous months. Not a big deal for me but would be nice to have the data.

Try logging out of the app and back in. This sometimes fixes issues. You can logout under your account settings. @RumeeAhmed

Done all that stuff since I migrated last week, might give it another try but it seems futile

If you’re still having issues contact the in app support. I’m sure they can sort it for you.

Is your one working?

I never had mine originally configured sorry

Went through the upgrade yesterday - no issues to report :tada: however…one thing I have noticed already - the split the bill functionality seems to no longer be present?

The top up thing doesn’t bother me, and that was explicitly mentioned in the upgrade email as not being there yet, so not an issue. However, I didn’t see any warning about losing out on the split the bill feature. Kind of gutted as that’s one of the key features I use all the time! Was part of what sold a monzo card to a few of my friends too as they saw how easy it was to split bills on a night out etc. Is this something that is coming back in the near future?
