Sorry I’m new here and have no idea how this all works.
I’ve literally woken up to find a notification that a direct debit for “one family advice” has been set up, completely without my knowledge. I’ve been and looked “one family” up and this is definitely not anything to do with me. I’ve cancelled it but now I’m panicking over how this has been done in the first place
I don’t use my Monzo account other than for my direct debits and I use one of the saving pots - I transfer all the money direct from my main bank account. I’ve never even used my Monzo account for anything so I’m unsure as to how someone would have my card details to be able to do this. Any advice?
Direct debits don’t use card details, someone probably just guessed your account number.
But you’ve cancelled it so nothing to worry about anymore.
Don’t happen to have a life insurance policy with Beagle street do you?
They have been bought by One family and are changing direct debits and will be using that name.
Oh my bloody god! That’s it!!! Haha. Flipping heck looks like I’ll be ringing them now to reset it up. I maybe should of posted on here before freaking out and cancelling it first. You are an absolute lifesaver!!!
Thanks for solving that mystery! I woke up to a similar notification about two DDs on our joint account - I assumed it was something with a new name, but the Beagle Street one had already gone from the list.
(My wife deals with the admin for that one so I hadn’t seen the email)
Virgin money life insurance comes under the same company that owned Beagle street. So there’s a possibility that it will be the same with them too.
