It’s simply not true that this can happen. So if they did not give you a reason then you should request one, and you can go to any police station within 3 months for a copy of the search report.
When inputting onto systems, you cannot just input it as “no reason”.
I do not know anything regarding your situation but I assure you an officer cannot just search you for no reason.
Now, you might not agree or like the reason for your search, but that is not the same as having no reason. The law simply does not allow for this, and too many people need to check any searches done on systems for them to get very far without any just cause.
A BS reason is worst than no reason. Point is I have never ever been involved in any kind of activity which would have given police a reason but I have been stopped and searched several times.
I really can’t be bothered dealing with them so just been glad to get it done and over and go home safe.
Also, I think police needs to accept there are normal brown and black people out there
I never once said there is no racism, like I said police officers are a section of society and it comes with the bad parts unfortunately.
I’m really going to stop commenting on your particular posts though I’m afraid. If you feel you have been searched for no reason then there are ways to take that forward if you are of the belief you were illegally searched. If you don’t then I don’t understand personally why you would then make blanket statements about the thousands and thousands of officers (many of who are “brown” and “Muslim named” like yourself might I add) when you’re not prepared to follow through with your complaints at an official level.
A bullshit reason? Everyone searched thinks that the reason is bullshit just as everyone arrested is innocent. You don’t have to like or agree with the reason but that doesn’t make it illegal.
We are aware there are normal black and brown people out there. Can you please accept there are non-racist officers out there?

For me and a number of other friends I know BS reason really matters. I understand your logic and know not all are bad…
Some of the articles are less than 6 months old but I do accept things might have changed now because I have not been stopped for past 2 years. Maybe I have grown
I know it’s an emotive subject and I can’t say I know it all or even have answers to change a lot of the issues that stem outside of the law and into society as a whole.
I will leave you only to implore you to report anything that you feel is not right or infringes on your rights. You have them as much as any other person.
Since I got mine, travelling in Europe has felt kind of smooth. I keep it in the wallet with bank cards and I feel assured that if I needed it for anything, airline or hotel check-in, it will be there. It just feels good
A lot of breaches are actually poor judgment of individuals rather than a mass hacking of data. If civil servants abided by the rules then we wouldn’t have the issue as much.
After all, the British government scrapped its own biometric national identity card scheme in 2010, four years after its introduction. Britons considered it intrusive and heavy-handed. So authorities built a system that makes ID cards redundant. Now, police can just scan someone’s body. And with facial recognition technology, most people will not even know they are being scanned.
Off-topic but I find it ironic that this rag is outraged by facial recognition and its privacy implications and yet their paywall tries to sell you a paid plan with this in the terms:
