Uber Eats - Your Thoughts?

Christ how far out do they deliver? I’d do almost anything to avoid eating BK or McD but I’m within 5 mins cycle of 5 of them. To be honest, how hard is it to whip up something quicker on a lazy Sunday morning (okay you got me, afternoon) anyway?

To be fair to Uber Eats, I once drunkenly ordered McDonald’s, only to fall asleep on the sofa and wake up hours later.

I got an email saying that they had missed me, and that on this occasion they would refund me in full.

Just had an uber eats from mcdonalds to test out the service and impressed, bit on the expensive side to have on your own but with others it would be decent

Friendly Indian bloke and came in 10 mins nice and warm

I suppose when it’s busier it’s a different thing

Ok, I’ll do it…”and what was the food like?..

Another £10 off code out today: tryeatsuk10. Can use once per phone number.

I don’t use it anymore because the delivery driver isn’t responsible if something is wrong or missing when it arrives, which is completely understandable because he’s not employed by the food place he/she is delivering from. All UberEats does is refund you for that particular item or meal so it’s a real pain if you’ve ordered for a few people and one person ends up with no meal. JustEat is what I use because at least everyone you deal with is still employed by the same business.

I live in the middle of nowhere, so no Uber Eats or Deliveroo for me

BUT the times I’m visiting cities I frequently use it and never really have any trouble. Agree with most of the comments above, delivery is pretty expensive and does feel worth it if you’re just getting yourself something really?

I only use this for the free codes. The food choice is appalling (downmarket chains only) and life is too short to be eating such trash food when there are so many interesting independent alternatives.

Oh you’re in a joyous mood this morning

My Uber Eats has plenty of independent businesses on there offering a whole variety of cuisines. My favourite is a local Jamaican place - really fresh, healthy and wholesome food

For me it’s perfect when you’ve had a long day, you’re really tired and you just want to be in the comfort of your own home

I’m full of joy for the amazing food I can eat in the actual restaurant that doesn’t arrive lukewarm and messed up!

In the situation I described I can’t think of anything worse that having to go to a restaurant. That’s if they’re even open that late on a weekday!

Used it in the US for the 1st and last time :joy:

Ordered effectively 4 large MCD’s meals which we normally get here for about £25, other there it was about £35 and as usual they messed the order up :joy:

Uber eats did refund me the full meal price for a missing item

They have a pretty good little section where you can share a delivery and not pay for the delivery now.

I basically just pick from those places now. If I don’t like them, I wait 5 mins and they refresh to new places.

:open_mouth: this is new to me, is it app only?

I didn’t know there was any other way?

But yeah it just appears on my app. Usually has 5/6 places that have free delivery.

Like that, but British.

Ahhhh, I’ve never used the app so that would be why. May have to install it now to give it a go :eyes:

Used to use it all the time at uni, less now I’m back at home (what a surprise!)

From my experience it was all about the time that you ordered, sundays were always super hit and miss on quality because they were so busy
