You Have Been Watching

Just watched Self Made on Netflix. Wasn’t very impressed but it was quite historically interesting. Kind of a mish-mash of period drama and low budget sitcom though.

I know The Platform is a film but that was very cool. If you like Snowpiercer you’ll probably like that.

I’ve watched La Dernière Vague (The Last Wave) it’s a French language show just the 6 episodes.

It’s quite good to be fair

TV Shows I watched recently and enjoyed

The Serpent - on BBC about the life of serial killer and conman Charles Sobhraj
Stranger (season 1 & 2) - Netflix Korean police drama about corruption in high places. It’s fantastic!
Des - on ITV about serial killer Dennis Nilson
I Am Not Okay With This - Netflix teenage drama with supernatural elements. Really enjoyably
The Night Manager - Fantastic spy drama

I am not OK with the fact that Netflix have used the pandemic as an excuse to not go ahead with a second season of I Am Not Okay With This :sob:

I’ve had the Night Manager recorded since it was first broadcast on BBC (2015/16?) and still haven’t got around to watching it. I must remedy that this year.

Things I’ve watched recently:

Dead Pixels - might as well be called “WoW - the series”. It’s a very funny look at MMoRPGs. The second series is starting this month.

Raised by Wolves - looked promising, but very disappointing. Plenty of money has been thrown at it, and Ridley Scott is involved. But the plot lurches back and forth, characters act inconsistently, and it veers far too far into “mystical bollocks” territory.

Foyles War - recorded the whole series on ITV2 last year, and I believe they’ve just started showing the whole series again. Thoroughly decent detective show, if you like that sort of this. Bonus - can watch with the family without any concerns.

Agreed. Really enjoyed the first (and now only) season. Was looking forward to more. A real shame.

it ended on such a cliff hanger too! they can’t just leave us like that!!

High Score on Netflix is a good series on the history of video games. Worth a watch if you haven’t seen it.

Butters!! You are grounded!!

Seconding this. Absolutely fantastic.

Currently watching The 100

I never caught up with it when I started working nights ages back, time to start from the beginning as can’t quite recall everything which happened.

Quick re-cap for The 100:

The last human’s are in grave danger and going to die! Hard work and perseverence sees them find a path through to a future, but they’ve suffered many losses… and a new grave danger awaits.

Repeat the above six times*

*I I haven’t seen season 7 yet, normally it would’ve be on E4 around last September, but I think maybe the pandemic got in the way? Either that or I missed it.

Trying out Next on Disney+

Annoyingly it looks like it’ll be a weekly occurrence rather then letting me binge

Your Honor on showtime… fantastic so far!

Finished The Wire recently as well… they don’t make em like that anymore… wow

Has anyone here been on tv?

I did a advert 15 years ago but that’s pretty much it

No, never!

Funny story is I do have performing arts qualifications, and I was quite good at it.

I still have this internal battle at times where a small part of me wants to pursue that path again, namely when I watch a really good show and would have liked to have been involved in it. On the other hand, I like having a modicum of anonymity and privacy.

I do have a sibling who has been on tv though.

I was on TV as Jeremy Corbyn’s “minder” a few times in the 2017 and 2019 elections.

I was on Sky Sports during the Cricket World Cup and have been on The Apprentice You’re Fired a few times.

I’m practically a celebrity!
