TV Show Recommendations

Has anyone else completed Netflix over the last week?

I just finished the second instalment of Stranger Things (I’ve mixed feelings but hopeful for the finale).

That said…I’m preparing for cavernous hole in my life that Stranger Things used to fill. So PLEASE, give me your top TV Show recommendations below :folded_hands:

I also finished The Handmaid’s Tale over the Christmas. An amazing show for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet!

I feel like I’ve watched everything I’d enjoy.

Apple TV has better shows imo:

  • Slow horses
  • The morning show
  • Invasion
  • Dark matter
  • Ted Lasso
  • Severance
  • Hijack
  • Silo - can’t believe I missed this off the original list, it’s one of the best shows

Netflix:

  • Stranger things
  • Schitts Creek (hilarious)
  • One Piece
  • Gangs of London
  • The fall
  • Snowpiercer
  • Ginny and Georgia
  • Rick and Morty
  • Peaky Blinders
  • Squid game
  • Resident Evil (series)
  • Wednesday
  • Ed Gein
  • The staircase (documentary)
  • Wayward

Handmaids Tale is also brilliant, felt like it ended too soon but the prequel will be coming :soon_arrow:

Anyone here watched Pluribus?

The season finale was last friday and it was amazing!

Can’t wait for season 2 to come out. But knowing Apple TV I will be waiting a while

Eurhh I’ve been trying to with this but it’s so dragged out. Think I’m ep 6 :joy:

That’s the point. It’s meant to be dragged out to help show the world as it now is now.

Will watch some more tonight to see if I can reach the same finale joy as you did :grimacing:

You will love the final episode. It leaves so many questions but also was just incredible!

I’m right there with you. Finished Stranger Things and now I’m wandering around the house like a pure gobshite, half‑expecting a portal to the Upside Down to open behind the hot press.

If you need something to fill the Hawkins‑shaped hole, here’s a few belters:

• The Rookie - Light, funny, and the perfect palate cleanser when your head is still fried from all the supernatural carry‑on.
• The OA - Strange, emotional, and will have you staring into the middle distance like you’re waiting for a sign from the universe.
• Fringe - Like Stranger Things’ mad scientist uncle who definitely drinks too much Lyons and has a shed full of “projects.”
• Grey’s Anatomy - I’m still watching it myself - season 16 at the moment, back‑to‑back every evening and weekend like it’s my second job.
• Law & Order: SVU - Olivia Benson could drag me out of the Upside Down by the scruff of the neck and I’d apologise for the hassle.
• Law & Order: Organized Crime - Gritty, dramatic, and Elliot Stabler is still out here solving crimes like he’s powered by Barry’s Tea and pure stubbornness.

And listen, if the Stranger Things finale ends with “it was all a dream,” I’ll absolutely lose the plot. Full meltdown. I’ll be writing letters.

If anyone else has recommendations, fire away - I’m dangerously close to rewatching Stranger Things from the start just to feel alive again.

It was also cancelled so we will never know where it went. Felt the same with Wayward Pines.

Question: how have you all finished Stranger Things, when the episode guide on Google claims the last episode is coming out on the 31st Dec?

We haven’t finished it yet- we’re just up to date :joy:

Google is correct the finale is out New Years Day in the UK, New Years Eve for USA.

I have actually started the first season  been trying to get into it on and off over the years but it seems to be sticking with me now

Can confirm that Pluribus is fantastic. I think that the reason it’s slow is what keeps it interesting and builds character. I’m sad it’s already ended.

A bit like Bobby Ewing in the Shower in ‘Dallas’?

Filming starts next year in the summer for Season 2!

A lot of questions from Series 1 though!

Also if anyone is a cinematography nerd I can’t reccomend Severance enough!
