I also like how recent technology has made it so easy to turn the telly over.
Used to put my back out spinning those solid wooden cabinet CRT tellies onto their tops…
Is anyone watching DragRace down under
I don’t know what to make of it. I like the USA and UK version, for some reason I can’t quite get into this one.
The production of it just seems cheap and doesn’t quite match. Maybe it’s just me, it just doesn’t feel the same.
I stopped watching Drag Race in any flavour a while ago. I think it’s had it’s time tbh, though I absolutely adore Ross Matthews
Time to dust off this topic as well.
Mare of Easttown has been pretty great so far and Kate Winslet as a grizzled detective works far better than I thought. The small town Boston vibe adds quite a bit of depth as well - would recommend to anyone who is huge into the HBO-style of show.
I’m going to start watching it when I’ve finished The Flight Attendant. I have to confess I swerved Mare when it started because someone told me it was a Happy Valley knockoff, but as the weeks have gone by I’ve seen lots of people I respect say good things about it, and the (probably spoilerriffic) clip on Gogglebox last week was excellent.
Does that get better as I found it dreadful for the first few episodes
I thought it was great from the start
If you didn’t enjoy the first few episodes, you’re not going to enjoy the rest.
To me it was just Penny from BBT, but more annoying!
Cuoco does a fantastic job of playing an unreliable alcoholic. There’s depth to it, and it’s quite a remove from the character of Penny. That said, unreliable alcoholics can be annoying, so I can understand disliking the site.
I’m working my way through Dr Who again. Feels like a never ending mission at the moment. So many episodes
I’ve just finished re-watching Breaking Bad and now I’m re-watching Better Call Saul.
Mainly because when I skimmed through new series to watch nothing really caught my attention. They all seems a bit boring or “samey”. I’m probably going to get mobbed for this but an example would be all the marvel superhero series on Netflix. There are so many and they all seem to have similar storylines
Oh gosh I’d never do that haha. When I said skim, I mean I looked through the new and recommended sections and watched trailers. Nothing excited me so I re-watched an old series that I have seen before.
Now that Taskmaster is over I’m just watching Call The Midwife. Telly is rarely on
Waiting for Loki
Your brother is a serial killer. Sorry to break it to you.
This is correct
How can you just fast forward through stuff and think nope that bits not relevant
I heard tell that the youth of today will watch shows at X2 or x4 speed so they can watch more episodes in a day. Even if the sound is pitch corrected, this still sounds like a horrifying prospect.
Ngl, I’ve done that with a few YouTube series you get used to it, plus you still see everything. Unlike skipping through parts
The Benny Hill chase scene with the head-slapping at x2 or x4? The world has literally gone mad.
Current watch list:
The IT Crowd
Currently rewatching all seasons on More4.
The Fall
Psychological thriller with Gillian Anderson (detective) hunting serial killer (guy from 50 shades) in Belfast. 1st episode was a slow start, but really picks up and you get hooked on the storyline. Currently half way through season 2 on iPlayer.
Motherland
Sitcom following the lives of middle-class parents. Protagnoist is Anna Maxwell Martin. Found this series after being impressed by her in Line of Duty. Not really a type of TV show I usually watch, but glad I am. Finishing season 2 on iPlayer.
The Bridge
Nordic noir crime series set in Denmark and Sweden, currently on season 1 which follows the hunt for a killer(s) by detectives Saga (Sweden) and Martin (Denmark) in a joint investigation. Highly recommended if crime dramas are your thing.
So gutted that Taskmaster is over. I would watch an odd episode prior to lockdown but since everything got closed and my living room became my new local pub - I watched every single episode and it’s one of the best shows I’ve watched.
The conception of it being an Edinburgh Fringe Show all the way to Dave then Channel 4 - so interesting!
