Iāll repost the Brett Goldstein acceptance speech here as well then since @Peter_G has went ahead and made a Topic for us all to rant about how great this show is.
Thatās excellent - I assumed most of the crowd shots were taken from real matches and just dropped in, which already felt like a lot of work.
Weāll this weeks was a rollercoaster
It certainly was
I wondered all series where Rupert was. But giving his shares away, the chat with Nath and the grin from him doesnāt bode well. I reckon thatās going to be the main focus of a devastating series cliff hanger
Loved season 1, dropped out after season 2, episode 3. Tell me it gets better again!
It does. Keep at it.
Sassy is by far my favourite characterā¦. So funny
This episode was a rollercoaster. How far they are taking Tedās storyline is really deep.
I will say I thought the conversation at the beginning in their bedroom between keeley and Roy was just an advert for the new filming mode on iPhone 13 (as that convo at the end with keeley and Jamie tart sets up an interesting end to the season on that story line/ maybe obviousā¦.
Sassy is the friend everyone dreams of! What a legend!
I read a review somewhere that an episode of Ted Lasso is like rolling around on the floor with a puppy.
I enjoyed todays ep, but feel like thereās a lot to happen in the finale to resolve all these storylinesā¦
Also, I really thought Ted and Sharon were going to get together. Iām glad they didnāt though. I was also convinced he was the one texting Rebecca, and the reason he didnāt get with her friend last year was because he liked her. But I guess heās still into his ex so it would be way too soon for him to move on.
Observations after binging four episodes in a row:
Nexts weeks Finale is gonna be a big un
The song at the end was blinking perfect. Canāt wait for next week!
Itās been really deliberately planned though, something is going to happen in the finale to resolve it. Either he gets a huge dressing down or he quits and stays bitter. Hopefully Ted impresses on him the value of working well together and he realises the error of his ways.
Got to say, Trent is an awful journalist. Who would ever reveal a source, to a friend. Who would write about a friend in the first place? And who would send a link to an an article online, and THEN ask for a comment?!
Unlreated, its been interesting reading US commenters getting into a tizzy about Rebecca & Sam. I think over there colleague romances are more frowned upon? Whereas here its not uncommon for people to be dating in an office, even amongst senior and junior staff. So long as you donāt treat them differently, or donāt have direct line management responsibility it usually seems okay.
After my week off - Iāve had two episodes of Ted Lasso to catch up on. This season is just a completely different level.
First season was mainly uplifting stuff that warmed the heart but this season wants to break the things inside of me haha. This used to be my replacement for Parks & Rec for that feel good fix I needed to get through the week.
Nate started as this tortured little character who has now turned into a pure example of āpower corruptsā. The whole spitting in the mirror is dark and also gives me huge COVID fears
Roy & Keeley not working out is a bummer but there was so many moments of complete clarity/bliss earlier season that it was obvious that they wanted to break our hearts.
Coach Beard needs to drop Nate an even stronger truth bomb on him.
Rebecca and Sam is a small nugget of joy we got before they broke up so rapidly. Small potential of them hooking back up but I really hope it doesnāt involve her singing again. (Sheās a good singer but they seem to have used that fact far too much.)
Anthony Headās character is up to something dodgy
I can believe that I only just realised that Trent Crimm (The Independent) is Ben from the first series of Iām Alan Partridgeā¦
