Triodos Bank Chat

@BenC ‘Slow’ transfer times are currently about 10-15 minutes. OK, not instant, but…

@mmk You can use Triodos on Google/Apple Pay perfectly well via SumUp Pay (with cashback) and Curve (without). Well done on the move. We use it for our shopping account and have had no issues at all. App is coming on leaps and bounds too.

Is that 24/7? If so, then it’s not so bad.

I’ve not tested it 24/7, but the last few times I’ve moved money from Triodos to one of my other accounts it’s been about that.

I must have imagined those payments then.

Standing order on Friday morning left Kroo at 2.49am, arrived at Triodos at 3.02am.

I’ve just made a payment from Monzo, so I’ll update how long that weekend payment takes when it arrives.

I’ll look into those services (SumUp and Curve) if I really can’t do without Apple Pay (being cardless most of the time currently probably won’t help). I’m hoping the extra step of putting in card details will stop me from impulse spending, which is a really bad habit of mine currently, with how easy it is to pay with your face. A weird way of budgeting I know, but I’ve already broken my new year’s resolution of not buying things I don’t need.

In regards to faster payments, it’s usually just IOU’s from times I go out to eat with my mates (easier for one person to pay, and just transfer what I owe), so I’m sure they won’t hate me for having to wait 2 hours :face_with_peeking_eye:

If you look in the ‘Cashback is Coming to more customers’ thread I give the overview you don’t need to how easy SumUp Pay is to use!

Is there a roadmap anywhere of expected features they’re developing for the (near) future?

That payment just now from Monzo - left 18.03 and arrived 18.22.

I think it may be ‘up to two hours’ as a cover now.

There are meaningful updates quite regularly at the moment. Support via the app and Apple Pay are coming soon, and the app is more stable than others such as Nationwide.

It’s not fintech-modern obviously, but it’s not a dinosaur by any means.

I’m not sure, but I was made aware of the imminent chat support in the app & Apple Pay via email.

I think so, but I’ll check. I’m about to go out so my update here is unlikely to be prompt!

Tbf, the onboarding process took <15 mins. I did have to wait a day for them to do their KYC checks but I’m actually impressed with how quick the sign up process was and how the app feels currently, even though my balance is £0.00. I wonder what the payment feed will look like when payments start to be made/come in.

Do they show pending incoming payments, like a monthly salary payment due to be paid in?

Nothing like that

Man such a nice card, and from what I can see a geninuly ethical bank. If we had the functionality of Algbra, and a credit card, I would likely go all in here.

100% agree, I have used them on and off over the years, but the lack of instant notifications plus issues I had using my debit card with TFL put me off them. Having said that I am going back, just waiting for them to approve me.

The app is nice but feels like the Nationwide one, lacking in basic features (well what I consider basic) and I doubt they will as they don’t have one in their home country of the Netherlands.

Then you’ll be very please to know Apple Pay is now supported. :tada::champagne::partying_face:

Might as well open an account if it’s a soft check. I’m happy with Lloyds as my main but wouldn’t mind a new account to play around with.

Triodos about to become the new trend on here? :eyes:

What is the Triodos sort code?
