Here is the old Debit Mastercard too for the sake of it, which will be discontinued and dead as a dodo, or Carl after 10 McFlurry + pies on the 29th:

LMK when thereâs finally Apple Pay and I might give them another go. I just think itâs a shame what theyâve done to the physical card. Moved away from biodegradable to greenwashed recycled plastic. Yuck.
Is faster payments still slow?

Paid for fuel this very evening from my Triodos account using Google Pay.
Both Curve and SumUp Pay work like a dream as the go-between.

Which bank has the greenest card? As this is why I was with them
Donât say Kroop.
Donât think there are any banks at this point who do. Triodos were really unique in doing that.
Algbraâs the next best thing (same material as the old triodos card). But theyâre not a bank.
Iâd probably hate the change less if theyâd also take a leaf out of Algbraâs book in making a physical debit card optional, not mandatory. But then I suppose theyâd need to support the wallets for that to be acceptable for customers. Itâd be a real miss if, once they support the wallets, they donât take that approach IMO.
Krooâs cards used to be before they became a bank. I donât know if they still are. Itâs no longer mentioned on the website, and youâd expect if it was the case, theyâd still tout it. I think they actually went a step further, and added an ingredient which would speed up the process in composting.

But ordered one from across the globe because thatâs the least green card system known to man.

Yeah, but I actually need to be able to receive funds from Hong Kongers. Itâs easier to be able to spend it or convert to GBP at will with no fees.

Iâve got used to the SumUp cashback now, so even if they could be directly added to Google Pay I might not make use of it! Nice to have the option though.

Looks like theyâre very close to getting Apple Pay launched now.
- Apple Pay will shortly be available for Triodos debit cards, and we are working to offer other mobile payment methods soon. Find out more.
