Here is the old Debit Mastercard too for the sake of it, which will be discontinued and dead as a dodo, or Carl after 10 McFlurry + pies on the 29th:

LMK when there’s finally Apple Pay and I might give them another go. I just think it’s a shame what they’ve done to the physical card. Moved away from biodegradable to greenwashed recycled plastic. Yuck.
Is faster payments still slow?

Paid for fuel this very evening from my Triodos account using Google Pay.
Both Curve and SumUp Pay work like a dream as the go-between.

Which bank has the greenest card? As this is why I was with them
Don’t say Kroop.
Don’t think there are any banks at this point who do. Triodos were really unique in doing that.
Algbra’s the next best thing (same material as the old triodos card). But they’re not a bank.
I’d probably hate the change less if they’d also take a leaf out of Algbra’s book in making a physical debit card optional, not mandatory. But then I suppose they’d need to support the wallets for that to be acceptable for customers. It’d be a real miss if, once they support the wallets, they don’t take that approach IMO.
Kroo’s cards used to be before they became a bank. I don’t know if they still are. It’s no longer mentioned on the website, and you’d expect if it was the case, they’d still tout it. I think they actually went a step further, and added an ingredient which would speed up the process in composting.

But ordered one from across the globe because that’s the least green card system known to man.

Yeah, but I actually need to be able to receive funds from Hong Kongers. It’s easier to be able to spend it or convert to GBP at will with no fees.

They are getting there. Fast payments and Google/Apple Pay without Curve/SumUp next hopefully!

Fingers crossed!
When Apple Pay arrives I’ll give them another go.

I’ve got used to the SumUp cashback now, so even if they could be directly added to Google Pay I might not make use of it! Nice to have the option though.
