Pretty much agree with this. For the faithful, the aim is to get to the final - adding some money here and there along the way (but not at risk to myself). I wouldn’t even care about finding traitors as they will be replaced. Getting to the endgame is the most important thing.
Yeah I just can’t agree. Jake was the one who decided to go into a room and have a go at everyone. Aggression was Jake’s approach. Dan just responded with a very logical explanation of why everyone did what they did.
I saw a video dissecting “optimal strategy” on the game talking about a few different points, including this one.
Linda’s deflection is a lot like Ash, I think, from S1, who “played deaf” when someone cast suspicion onto her - just generally looks poor form and definitely highlights you as either a traitor or just poor at the game
And the “Bad Faithful” topic is interesting too - While obviously it’s not great if you keep voting Faithfuls off, the End Game of the show is only ever going to be 3-5 people tops in the last stretch, and we know the Traitors will recruit when their numbers drop - I think it’s a reasonable approach to get rid of the less than useful Faithful when it’s possible, as you get closer to the end they become more of a hinderance to the team than anything.
Such a brutal take down by your family! Love to see it. I know this may be editing but I’m honeslty surprised the group didn’t come to the conclusion that one of the sisters would end up as a Traitor - glad the discussion on it came up at the Table though.
By the evidence of the last episode that’s all but four players (and two of those actually got off because they were annoyed at the task more than anything). Even if one of those four starts voting off selfish faithfuls, no one is going to follow because for most of them it describes themselves too.
Only 1-2 people are going to win, makes sense everyone is trying to get there. It wouldn’t be fun to watch if they didn’t care about winning!
Well I do, but either way this is just differing opinions on how to win the game. Nothing for Jake to get upset about, it’s clearly the majority opinion of the group and he isn’t going to change the groups mind by getting angry at them.
My personal strategy as a faithful would just be to keep middle of the road, don’t draw attention and try and work out who the traitors are, but not tell anyone if I did. And get as many shields as possible to maximise the chances of staying in.
Finally caught up today and am loving it so far! The cast definitely feels a bit more tactical this year but that still doesn’t seem to be helping them much
I hope the challenges continue to create a bit more division as it adds something extra that wasn’t really seen too often on past series.
I’m assuming the scene with the rail replacement is what it seems, but wouldn’t surprise me to have some sort of twist there.
Thought the choice in the mission was a good little twist and glad they picked those two. Thought picking the other sister to be murdered was the only choice really. Definitely more conflict between people this series but I think that’s because they know not to automatically trust their friends so are a bit less friendly with them. With the choice at the end, I would personally recruit Anna. I think she would accept and will likely be voted out soon so can be thrown under the bus.
Watchable but not a standout episode. Thought they might do more with the railway replacement. The right two picks to rejoin the game, but it does mess up the previous rule that the only way to leave is through banishment or murder.
Minah might go all the way. Unless the hubris gets her. My gut says they’ve gone for Fozia, which will probably mess their game. I’m not sure Freddie would go for it (and I suspect they’ll want to keep it the sisterhood) so Anna probs the best pick…
Oh and will someone murder or banish Dan and the school teacher for my viewing enjoyment!
Excellent exit speech from Kas, glad he stayed strong until the end - but is so sad to see him get treated the way he did and ostracised from the group
Not the biggest fan of Joe, and the Boys Club. Joe’s high horse attitude is getting tiresome and he’s coming across as just mean spirited IMO
Not sure on the recruitment call tonight, don’t think is that needed yet at this point - Minah still seems to be going unnoticed and Linda is Linda… Same for their choices of recruitees
Alex will be a good player I think - though I think he’ll do better at hiding his motives and reading narratives than others do, from limited view so far. I think Alex and Dan could be strong together. Though I am sad we won’t see Jack in the castle.
I do wish the players would strategise more to maximise the prize pot - they could have cleared an extra £1k if they’d have plotted better.
Not sure I agree with the flimsy reasoning re: the knot on the boat - I would probably fumble that too, certainly wouldn’t know what knot to tie. Someone else who knows boating better (like Lisa!) could have secured the raft…
They weren’t in the game to start with. Only the players who get to the castle are. It even said they two lowered would “enter the game” so the rule still stands.
So far I have a soft spot for Freddie and (had one) for Kas. I don’t have a strong pull towards anyone else, yet.
They’re a teary bunch this season aren’t they? It’s a mentally tough game; I am starting to bore of the tears, crocodile or real.
The faithfuls once again falling for the trap of thinking anyone who would make a good traitor is a traitor (doesn’t work like that) or if any human being there has a vaguely human moment or deviates from the acceptable norm (or just is normal) then they too must be a traitor. It’s screaming of season 1 with the “you didn’t raise your hand…” moment.
The irony of one of the guys (name has left me) to say he works on evidence and then tells Anna he thought she was a traitor because of his “gut feeling” was not lost on me. It’s not evidence my friend.
The right two were chosen to enter the game but I think it was too soon and they will now have targets on their backs. If I were faithful I’d happily banish both to ensure neither were traitors
The challenge was pretty unchallenging to be honest. There wasn’t even really any race for people to save their ‘favourite’, which is what I suspect the Producers were hoping for to get a bit of tension in the challenge, because they’d only met them for the briefest of time and so hadn’t really built up any relationship.
What was good about it though is, for next year, it kinda stops people thinking if they ‘sacrifice’ themselves in any twist before they even get into the castle, there’s no guarantee they’ll definitely be joining later in the series though so it is more of a bigger decision for contestants to make. As Jack was later on Uncloaked, I’m assuming they’re not keeping him in another back pocket to use later in the series.
I think the Traitors reasoning on who to recruit was a bit weak though. So, they’re going to recruit someone who is already under suspicion so if/when they’re banished, it’ll deflect the faithfuls into not looking for other traitors?
What they could(should) do is, when tomorrow everyone walks into breakfast, try and push everyone into assuming that they’d tried to murder someone with a shield last night and failed and not that they’d tried to recruit so they’ll think there’s one less traitor around.
If they recruit Harry, he’s almost definitely going to be in the spotlight for banishment tonight so it could be a very quick role he’ll play. Although, with this series you can never know - there’s been episodes where one night there’s 2 clear people who people suspect, they banish one person, who turns out to be a faithful so, if it were me I’d immediately think ‘ok - wasn’t that one, so must be the other’ but the next night they’ve all moved on and that other person isn’t even raised. The tears from Harry may have moved a few people over to support him.
If I were a traitor looking to recruit, I’d probably go with someone who’s in the middle of one of the strong groups - and, at least from the editing of the show we’re seeing, that’s Tyler, Joel, Leanne and Livi so I would’ve targeted one of those to seduce.
