I do love Traitors but my god, the anxiety it gives me
Hang on - itās gone from near daily to weekly?!
No, BBC, no!
Today I found out that you canāt download shows on a laptop anymore. And the BBC has prevented Apple Silicon users from downloading the iPad app that would sort that out.
Itās almost like theyāre driving the likes of @N26throwaway to the high seas.
The first two episodes are on iPlayer if that helps. I donāt know how many they will release each week.
Thanks both! I think in my grumpy state I misread ānew episodes every weekā for āone new episode a weekā on the iPlayer landing page:
Three is very acceptable. Thank you BBC (now fix iPlayer downloads plsthx).
So weāre okay with spoilers in spoiler tags after an episode has aired, right?
I enjoyed the first two.
Minah should go farš¤š¼
Episode 1 (not seen 2 yet):
Donāt go banishing Linda!
Armani really needs to take it down as many notches as she can. She wonāt last!
(When) Will we see the three who got off the train again?
LOL at fake Welsh. Sheās gonna come over all southern English when under pressure, isnāt she?
Few thoughts (after two episodes):
1. Armani (?) is going at it way too hard. Encouraging the other traitors too as well. I suspect they will turn against her at the first moment.
2. The three that got off should just get nothing. Sorry, youāre not taking one for the team if youāre expecting something. Bye.
3. The faithfulās are returning to the original sin of thinking anyone with a personality or difference is a traitor.
4. The traitors are chosen. Someone who would make a good traitor doesnāt mean they are. They have no choice. Why is this never learnt?
5. Iām going to be harsh but thereās a lot of emotion/crying this series. Itās annoying to watch after a while. Itās a game. I was actually slightly concerned with Ellenās ability to even manage the game with her seeming to not cope mentally with the ups and downs. In that regard Iām glad that she has left; I would have imagined the production might have had to step in at some point to check in.
6. The sisters I donāt trust. If they havenāt formulated plans beforehand (which includes one or both of them being traitors) they are idiots. If I were the faithful Iād have no qualms getting rid of one as soon as possible. I wouldnāt want two family members getting towards the final and having a larger chance of collectively winning the prize. Bye.
7. Lydia (?) wonāt last long but then previous series the faithfuls remarkably forget collective things by the next banishment so maybe notā¦
I think something Harry said in the first episode of Uncloaked makes sense.
When they were discussing how so many of them this year appear to have their own secrets - the ex-soldier, the priest, the fake welsh woman, why would you do that if thereās a chance youāre also selected as a traitor? Itās hard enough just doing that - why add extra layers of deceit to your persona?
I suspect that much like other reality shows as years progress the production choose people who have that āedgeā to them over regular folk.
Itās what Big Brother did and it died a death because everyone was there to become famous rather than play the game and be ordinary.
Not sure if anyone has worked this out before, but if you looked across all the global series, I wonder what the probability of winning is if youāre picked as a traitor or a faithful at the start. Obviously youād have much better odds if youāre a traitor, but I seem to remember the first series, not many actually wanted to be a traitor - whereas this year, seemed like everyone did.
So, after the 2nd episode
itās interesting that they introduced more of a conflict in the challenge to get the traitors to try and sabotage the group.
Thatās what I thought was missing from the previous series - so hope that wasnāt just a one-off and is something thatāll be reoccurring throughout the series. Maybe instead of people being able to protect themselves with shields.
Although how thatāll work where as a production they still need to kill off enough people to get down to just a small group of finalists in 12 episodes if the team keep winning the challenges so stop the traitors from murdering - Iām not sure!
(not actually sure how long after an episode has aired do we need to spoiler protect it? Can we agree maybe on the evening itās aired, still spoiler protect, but by the next morning, itās fine to opening discuss it?)
Ready for the internet to be filled with Claudia POV memes once again.
Thoughts so far;
As mentioned Up Thread, why the sisters have had no suspicions cast against them I donāt know. Surely some have had the thought, āIf I were producing the show, it would make sense for one of them to be a traitorā. And while TSis might kill FSis, sheās likely covered for a little bit.
Loving the classic āYou displayed Emotion X so must be a traitorā. Canāt remember who said āshe was calmā and that getting a load of criticism⦠But itās not like youāre actually getting murdered. Same with the āyou werenāt that excited when you came to breakfastā bit.
Armani definitely going too hard with trying to be the leader - people are cottoning on and I suspect a traitor bus enthrowment soon.
Looking forward to a fake welsh slip up soon.
Still though, seems they have no clue if some one am or amnāt the traitor.
I see what you mean but my gut tells me just the next morning is still too soon. But I will generally avoid this thread if I havenāt watched up to the latest so it wouldnāt bother me.
Iād say spoiler tag until the series has finished. But be clear what episode(s) youāre talking about.
My main thought so far is that I fully enjoyed the gratuitous shot of Freddy in the shower.
Otherwise, after two episodes . I feel like Linda and Armani are done, especially Armani who is way too confident. It wonāt make any sense why someone like that isnāt murdered. Minah is smart though
Iām sure many did

Monzo community is pretty gay isnāt it. Donāt mean that negativity, just an observation.
