I’m travelling in the US right now and wanted to get some cash. I have one of the thick and heavy premium account cards. It was really difficult to insert and didn’t actually work. I was super stressed because I pushed it all the way in and it wouldn’t come out anymore. Someone had to come and help me remove it. As fancy the premium card is, please consider making it as thin as a standard card.
Premium metal no longer exists.
It’s Burnt coral in plastic form.
Monzo premium also does not exist, it’s Monzo Max.
Oh since when? I got this card early this month.
Oh I see. Will switch then! thanks
Do you have a very special metal card? If not they’re all very much the same.
Yes if you upgrade you get a different card. It sounds like the Premium account type is now being deprecated so I guess anyone who upgraded their account after 23 April won’t have the card and therefore not encounter this problem.
I personally wouldn’t be forcing cards into atm machines if I knew it wouldn’t fit - I’d just use contactless or chip and pin. If the card was stuck you’d have not been able to access any money.
I understand some places use cash only but I wouldn’t be risking my card.
It’s been noticed the metal premium cards don’t fit some machines mostly abroad.
Take a look at the account features and make sure they suit you. There are some significant differences between Premium and Max.
Machine could’ve also had a skimming machine on it which may have reduced the space.
Be sure to freeze your card when not in use just in case.
Costco has a sign on all petrol pumps stating no metal cards
