It would be good to be able to add notes to Top ups please. I hope that categorisation of income and information on the source of credits (sender reference etc.) are coming in anticipation of the full Monzo account.
NB If you need an alternative name for a current account why not call it “The Full Monzo” ?
Re Monzo for Teenagers. https://trello.com/c/oJcoQ37K If the longer term aim is to allow under 18s to open accounts (and you need to be able to counter the youth accounts offered elsewhere) then please start a waiting list for under 18s. Rather than saying that they need to be 18 when they download the App and try to start the registration process, add them to a separate list. That way you’ll have a load of prospective users of The Full Monzo who won’t be disappointed from having been turned away.
Ease of implementation " a doddle" priority - ASAP!
From what I remember from my studies minors are unable to make a valid contract for other than necessities. That’s why there are a limited number of banking services for under 18s and certainly no credit cards or loans.
@Birddog They can still have bank accounts with debit cards, exactly the service Monzo offers. The realtime functionality means that Monzo would be ideal in preventing overdrafts. You can also grant minors credit. The contract just wouldn’t be enforceable though!
Just a quick heads up - it’s probably better to post any new ideas in a dedicated topic, rather than replying to this post.
That’ll make it much easier for other users to find the idea, lend their support, discuss it etc. & help avoid the same idea being posted several times.
There’s a good chance that your idea will be lost in a very long thread, if ideas keep being posted here
It’s worth searching for an existing topic that covers your idea too. There’s quite a few suggestions that’ve been posted here which have their own topics already…
@anon50039658 How about integration with Quidco for online purchases, so that you automatically get cashback from purchases without having to go through Quidco? Other banks are offering cashback scheme, mostly for household bills, so this would be a nice competitive move…
Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but I find the categories quite restricting. It would be great if they could 1) be expanded on to include this like grooming, drinking etc and 2)you could add your own categories and assign retailers to these categories so the cost is automatically recognised under the right heading.
Please make it (or have the option) that any transaction in the expenses category does not contribute towards your spending for that month. I had to buy something on behalf of someone which was quite expensive, then they paid me back. Now it looks like I massively overspent for the month which is not true. Thanks a lot!
Wouldn’t it be great if I could easily see how much each Monzonaut within a specified group of friends had spent on various transactions after a night out together / weekend away, and then easily calculate how much each person is owed and by who?
Don’t know if this has already been mentioned, but its a common annoyance trying to work out who owes who how much, and more complex than just the Uber-style fare share because of multiple different transactions. Thanks!
It would be great if Monzo was also linked to an airmiles system like Avios for example. So everytime you used your Monzo card you were also collecting airmiles!
This would probably be a huge bonus to your target audience, who I am assuming are people their 20s who are also more likely spending money on travelling as well!
Putting forward the concept of being able to easily be a good person and report a found card with an optional message to the owner for inclusion on the extraordinary ideas board!
You have the data on my past transactions. Now tell me how much I will have left at the end of the month. Or at this rate you will have spent this much by the end of the week.
Especially useful when on holiday when your spending pattern is very different.
