‘O, Canadaaaa’ :canada:

We decided, that while I do still want to go to Nashville one day :cowboy_hat_face: , another bucket list destination was British Columbia, so that’s what we’re doing later in the year.

We’re flying out on Saturday :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:.

I’ve added a bit of lippy to the pig:

‘Prime’ - clearly misspelt Crime. 79 EUR a year? [insert multiple forum-banned expletives here]

Here’s the Head for Points take on this:

No it’s actually worse than that. They’ve clearly applied their dynamic currency conversion because that €79 converts to £79 for UK residents!! What a load of sheiße!

Canada? #51stState

Surely it would become the 51st through to 61st with each province becoming a state

Spent one night in Edinburgh as had a meeting here. Never been before but it was a very lovely city. I should look into coming back for longer and actually exploring the city.

Got lucky and both days were very sunny.

Edinburgh is lovely! Some great gin places as well.

It’s a remarkably expensive city but stunning and I’ve always enjoyed it there.

What do others use when going to a destination where you don’t have roaming?

Local SIM, Airalo, Holafly, Revolut eSIMs, only use wifi?

Depends. I have two Sims, between them they cover 99% of the world. If for some reason they don’t, I just use Wifi at hotels when I get back

I’ve got away with it a couple of times but I’d probably be in trouble if they found out :joy: only done it for a day here and there

We did some of the Rebus trail (the Ian Rankin novels) with our niece when we went for her uni open day and took her to the Caley Bar.

I wasn’t allowed the 40 year old Balvenie - that’s £425 per measure, not per bottle.

I once reconfigured a Cisco router whilst having a meal at a restaurant in Stockholm. The on-call team couldn’t get hold of anybody else so their manager made them call me on holiday.

(I had a laptop in my backpack).

I’ve worked from abroad (at companies that let me do that), wasn’t really for me, the idea was nice but I just couldn’t work or relax effectively so worst of both worlds. My current place allows it but I no longer do it.

My company don’t have my personal phone number and I don’t have work emails on my phone.
So when I’m away I’m away. There’s no chance I’d work even in my evening let alone on holiday.

My router is very insistent on me stopping work at 5.30pm. Cut off a few people mid sentence. They get the message after that.

Mind you, I did once have someone email me about 5.30pm with something that was urgent. They emailed a a little after 7pm saying it was really urgent. Then again after 9pm saying that they needed a reply RIGHT NOW. Turned out that when I read her missives about 9.30am the next day, it really wasn’t urgent.

Anyone got recommendations for things to see/do in Tokyo, Sapporo and Osaka?

In celebration of the launch of British Airways Club:
