Switching between accounts is annoying

I have both a personal and a business account with Monzo, and I find it extremely frustrating that there aren’t two separate apps or a more seamless way to switch between accounts. The UX has become a complete mess, and the extra effort required is becoming a constant irritation.

I’m planning to open a new account with another provider and move my business account. Since Monzo has grown so much and maybe loosing touch, I felt it was worth sharing my thoughts. I’ve loved Monzo since the Mondo days—it’s been a fantastic bank—but this UX is really making things difficult for me.

So instead of switching account view you think it’s quicker to log in to a different app?

What sort of seamless experience would you be looking for? It’s only 2 taps currently, I’m not sure what they could do to only make it 1.

yes

separate apps or a right away give us a choice which account

I mean all you need to do is tap your profile pic top left and then tap the other account. I can’t really see how they could make that much simpler, and separate apps would just add to the development burden. Certainly wouldn’t get your hopes up on them splitting it into an entirely separate app for the sake of saving literally two screen taps.

Actually drives me crazy, there has to be a better way. I tap that icon 10 times a day it’s not just two taps.

I… don’t really know what that would be. They have to have somewhere to list your accounts (you can have multiple business accounts) and they have to have a way to trigger that menu. There will always be at minimum two taps, unless they waste space with a permanently visible button to switch (but even then it wouldn’t work for people with munitions accounts). Do you want it to prompt which account you want every time you open the app? That would arguably just be way more of an annoyance for everyone that primarily uses one or the other.

Honestly, you’ll probably just need to live with having to tap the screen twice lol. To me it’s already a very simple way to switch accounts. It won’t be broken out into a separate app, it would be a huge engineering effort to do that, both upfront and ongoing, for no gain whatsoever.
