I deal with VoIP daily - there shouldn’t be any technical reason for it or cost associated as inbound calls are generally at no cost.

I’m also curious why they do this though as it’s not a great experience for anyone who needs urgent contact and can’t use the app.

To be fair, the phone lines for a lot of companies are dead right now. Though you don’t typically expect that to be the case with a bank.

Indeed. I got through to Nationwide and had my query sorted within 5 minutes yesterday.
