Starling Bank Chat (Part 2)

The banks and plenty of others are falling over themselves to get AI into their offerings and I completely get that, and I’ve seen some areas where it’s making a big difference eg cyber security.

I think on banking it could be useful but it’s more a gimmick. On the back office side for anti-fraud etc I can really see how it would be useful.

I think likely it will be used on both sides, there’s definitely good use on both backend and front end evident by Revolut, Starling and Zopa already implementing it but I don’t think it would be limited to one side only like you originally sugguested well likely see it used both front and back end

Seen an ad for low balance alerts with Starling, is this new?

No, that’s been a feature for years

I just had to order a new card and it’s the old design still.

I’ve seen the new card showing in adverts and on the website but nothing yet.

They must have a large stockpile of old cards and might be waiting for the biggest expired card refresh month first

Why would they be waiting for any particular month? They’ll just be waiting till the last old card has been posted out, then the next customer will get the new design.

At least Starling are being responsible doing it this way. It’s not unusual for issuers to dispose of large quantities of stock when they change the design.

Agree, it makes sense to use the old ones up first. I think it’s more card collectors who want the new ones first :joy:

If they let ex customers rejoin again they would get get rid of the old stock quicker as they would need to issue new cards again

I’m about to dispose of a few old cards today. I can’t imagine keeping them, just to look at…

As long as they enjoy it, who am I to judge.

Mine are in a drawer amongst other things I never look at again.
