Ah, okay.

Just popped up on mine too.

Seems the fixed and easy savers are on the solo account only, not joint. :man_facepalming:t2:

Yep - they’ve always stated that its for Personal Accounts

I never read beyond the fact it was coming soon, I never noticed the fixed saver was personal only either as I would never use it due to poor conditions.

So if you have a joint account, you lose out on the current account interest, and having the easy saver. Yes you could have it as a personal one, but joint savings, are exactly that, joint

Exactly that, due to the simplicity of keeping all our joint money in Starling we’ve been getting the 3.25% on total balance/spaces but now that will be nothing.

It does seem that maybe there wasn’t very much joined up thinking at Starling when they came up with the Instant Access Saver and decided to drop the interest on the current account.

Both the Joint Account and Teen Account don’t seem to be eligible for the new Instant Access Saver account - but both are going to be loosing the interest on their respective account…

It’s terrible for the customers but their planning is sound - take away all the current account interest and expect people to be too lazy to move.

It was their USP - would be interesting to know how many move because of this.

I won’t move my joint banking but will move my joint savings now.

If Zopa were a bit more complete I could see them scooping up a few. Some might risk Kr-poo (it has quite a following on MSE because of the interest).

(Though actually neither of those are part of CASS so that considerably increases the friction of moving.)

My Easy saver is available now :star_struck:

Ooh. They do Monzo’s “Earned so far this month” thing. That’s really cool.

Those T&C’s tho. It’s a savings account. Doesn’t need an essay

Roughly how long did it take for them to approve the application?

It took a few seconds to see a notification about approval :smirk:

So it must be an automatic thing based off of Starling’s :sparkles: secret :sparkles: eligibility criteria then.

It does actually look like a decent product though.

Shame no joint Easy Saver.

It absolutely does being a regulated financial product.

That way if people some how complain about it for any reason they can refer to the T&Cs and dismiss it.

I should’ve put a  /s after it. I know T&C’s are an essay. I’ve read the Monzo & Starling ones.

I wish people would read the Monzo T&C’s about Monzo closing/freezing people’s accounts.
