I heard the Kiss presenter advertising it today.
For those using Starling as a main account, how do you find the Bills Manager function- worth using?
Not sure why they call it Bills Manager in the help articles etc. (Bills Manager: All your bills in one place | Starling) because I donât think Iâve ever seen the term used in the app itself!
Thanks, do you find it better, worse or the same since Starling changed the Home Screen from Spent today and spent this month to amount in spaces and total balance
Fair enough, just comparing Monzoâs calendar feature and Starlingâs Spaces in terms of budgeting and seeing which one I prefer
Monzo pots and starling bills manager are the same thing just different names and Monzo added a calendar.
Weâve had Starling as our joint account for a couple of years, and barely noticed that the bills manager thing, was a thing, just thought it was another spaces thing, that did not much
Yup, all much of a muchness. Having used both it seems that neither of them seem to cope very well with weekly payments so the monthly estimates have always been under for me. The main thing I prefer over Starlingâs implementation is that the money stays in the Space rather than going to your main account first like with Monzo.
Bank statements donât show Space movements either by memory, which makes them far more appealing for jobs like mine.
Yep, Starling statements are much clearer
I do sometimes feel Starling is a more in the moment experience I.e while you are doing a function it works ok, but if you want to look back i.e total spend or unified search it doesnât quite hit the spot.
Ah, so you use it like a standard bank account
Starling seem to have done well in terms of media coverage/ exposure - be good if the app could be at the same level.
could be my expectations, but the images in the ads and on the website seem a bit more polished
What do you mean by a âlike a standard bank accountâ?
Itâs their way of saying âthis is what you could have but nahhhâ
If we all collectively log a complaint at the same time, maybe theyâll be incentivised to open applications or give a useful update/timescale.
Or theyâll ban us all for life. ![]()
I was thinking of how people used to check their balance and have debits etc going out but no breakdown in spending so interaction with the website/app was limited
