I like them all, I just want Joint and Personal to be different colours! :grimacing:

Good news for Starling and some very serious investors there. Clearly they see long term growth or a good exit strategy.

It will be interesting to see what they eventually actually use the funds for.

This is what they’re planning:

The capital will be deployed primarily to support a targeted expansion of Starling’s lending in the UK, as well as to launch Starling in Europe and for anticipated M&A.

That’s what they are saying. My point was more I wonder whether this is what they will use the money for or something else?
Who is the M&A with/about???

There was so much in the press release including
Starling as we continue to grow and add new products and services.

So what new products?
All I’m saying is it was a very broad spec.
I wonder whether 95% expansion 5% new products of could it be the other way around?

Ah got you!

I think that Starling’s previously said that they’re looking to pick up a lender, so that’s probably the sort of acquisition they’re looking for. Although maybe an existing company in the EU might be a foot in the door. Did they ever get their Irish banking licence?

They are making a film. I think I might have seen it before, though.

Is that the sequel to the one with the shed?

Congratulations to Starling for winning “Banking App of the Year” and “Current Account Switching Provider of the Year” in the Moneyfacts Consumer Awards 2021. They were also “Highly Commended” in the “Current Account Provider of the Year” category :champagne:

Monzo were “Highly Commended” in each of those categories and “Commended” in the “Best Service” category :+1:t2:

I find this a strange award. Isn’t this service a standard that all banks have to abide by? You put your account in and then it moves over?

Or Starling first and Monzo second, is just people voting for who they switched to, rather than either of being better than any other bank?

There’s a vast difference in how easy they make the process though. If I remember rightly HSBC is still a phone call job. Starlings is remarkably simple and straightforward.

I just wish they still did partial transfers. Back when they were, it made it stupidly easy to sort out a mess of old accounts and move lots of DDs, while also keeping my main legacy for continuity and those pesky connected savings and investment accounts

Is that the one where they emailed their customers and potentially targetted facebook ads at them to get them to fill in the survey?

Oh god, now you’ve done it…

As @ndrw confirmed, no.
