I deleted the post due to it not making much sense
I wish it would get rid of itâs hideous green poor quality, crapply printed cards
I hung on to my old-fashioned purple card until itâs expiry last year and, I have to say, I miss it!
The new design just isnât that great and I canât really get used to the teal. I preferred purple.
I know what you mean about the âold lady-nessâ of it being shiny.
I think I would have preferred the white print, actually, but mine has black print.
I think they changed over after getting complaints about readability. The black print is fairy readable but looks really out of place and ugly against the teal.
I would quite like them to drop card details from the card itself. Surely, as a mobile-only app bank, they are well placed to do this. Curve have done so already on some cards.
I also think Monzo should go to the version of their card which is the current US design, only without any numbers on the card too. It would massively improve security and help tackle cardholder not present fraud.
No shininess on the Apple Pay image! I couldnât care less what the physical card looks like, as it rarely leaves my wallet - in fact, my wallet rarely accompanies me when I leave the house these days.
Mini poll!
Best Starling card:
- Original purple card
- Teal card
- Dark blue (?) business account
- Theyâre all beautiful
- Theyâre all terrible

Whereâs the âcouldnât give a ****â option?
I think youâve just ticked it.
Thatâs my view on the card design thread but I would be shot down for posting it.
Can be bright pink with the teletubbies on it for all I care
You can still have an opinion on which card is more aesthetically pleasing, even if you donât care what it looks like!
Not having an opinion is an opinion. Itâs not on the list.
I clicked one just for the hell of it, couldnât care less what a stupid bit of plastic looks like
I did like the purple designed one.
The blue business one is quite nice though.
You had some opinions over here Collected thoughts on card design - #101 by Anarchist
or are you just saying you donât have an opinion on Starling cards?
Busted! Though I might say thatâs more an observation than opinion
Couldnât give a flying fox about card colour, though.
Agreed, itâs close really which is nicer. But my favourite is the purple.
Iâm with @Anarchist in the âcouldnât give a ****â category.
Like @mirodo though, I rarely use a physical card, unless need an ATM
Colours and designs of cards donât bother me, just what the account attached to them can do for me.
Last time I saw my card was November for just this reason.
How refreshing !!
Thereâs a lesson to be learned here
You know who you are
I had both, the white is hard to read.
