This is generally part of open banking, so at some point youâve linked another account. Double check in app to see what youâve got connected, you can then also remove anything you donât need anymore
Apparently Sainsburyâs have said that theyâve restructured Argos, they expect to only have 100 standalone stores left. Theyâre closing 420 over 2 years until March 2024, and thatâs on top of 160 stores that never reopened after the first lockdown.
Where I live, thereâs a very very run down Argos, that theyâre obviously not investing in, and just up the road a very large Sainsburys. But so far, despite the Sainsburyâs having a lot of changes made to it over the last 18 months (new cafe, new click and collect point, new Sainsbury delivery depot) theyâve weirdly not announced any plans to move Argos into it. The other large Sainsburys on the other side of town had Argos moved in 3 years ago before the lockdown.
Thereâs also, in the city centre shopping centre, a Sainsburyâs mid-sized supermarket and not to it a now vacant Argos unit. Apparently Sainsburyâs are still the tenant of the Argos unit - you wouldâve though it might have made sense just to knock the wall down and make it a larger Sainsburyâs with a âclick and collectâ Argos desk in thereâŚ

Mine is connected to TrueLayer, but thatâs due to an association via the Nectar app.
Not sure what the Pay with TrueLayer is though.
At some point you will have, and not even realised. Just remove it youâll be fine with that. You could message support to see if they have any more info on the event which took place to add it on.
So, sounds like itâs Vanguard using it to avoid card processing fees.
If someone has Vanguard on Monzo, itâll be interesting to know if the same happens there?

Incidentally, it also sounds like you messaged CS at 9pm on Saturday night over a bank holiday weekend and you got a fairly accurate answer within 20 mins?
Thatâs pretty good going - especially as thereâs been lots of horror stories about Starlingâs CS taking hours to respond?

Iâve only ever paid into Vanguard with a debit card. Freetrade and InvestEngine use TrueLayer for open banking payments, though.
Hmm, just noticed that Iâve had TrueLayer connected to my Starling account, too. The only thing I can think of is when I bought crypto last year via Kraken.
This will not have happened just by using a debit card.
If youâve used something like Freetrade or T212 they use open banking to transfer money immediately. But itâs a different flow to a debit card and youâd be asked to authenticate through your banking app.

⌠Or the CS person is a super geek/nerd with no life to work on bank holiday out of hours, hence the accurate responses based on dayâs history âsomeone you paid was Openbanking paymentâ (turns out free trade, instead of vanguard, but close enough).
Could just be scheduled to work those hours

Makes me wonder how she wins these awards.
The app is so basic, more so than Santander.
Is it aimed toward business accounts, is their functionality better than personal accounts?
Iâd like to see more from Starling, and to remove the circle home page thing, or at least have an option as it doesnât really tell me anything except I spent ÂŁ100 on carrots this month.

I think Starlingâs app is great. It has all of the features youâd need - but I donât think Anneâs personality is something anyone should be awarding?
