✨ Spring cleaning: making it easier to manage your account & see Pots payments

From the blog post:

“It’s the first in a series of updates we’ll be announcing over the coming months. All of them are to do with Pots and helping you to get more value out of them.”

And:

“Pots are powerful, and over the next few months we’ll be launching features that make them even more powerful.”

Wonder if there’s more than ‘just’ pay from pot coming.

I suppose transfers between pots would be nice, could be a good clean up addition.

Anything else we’ve been asking for?

@jackcully Is this not available on TestFlight?

Despite the wording of the tweet the blog post does still say over ‘the next few weeks’ so think it’s still just rolling out.

Fair point, first read through i interpreted it as this is out with more to come in a few weeks, not sure why. My bad

I’m getting hints of being able to pay card-based subscriptions (CPA’s) from pots. If I can group my CPA’s with my regular bills to be paid from the Bills pot, this would be super :ok_hand:

Yeahhhh. I guess if we have general pay from pot (which I feel is confirmed at this point), we could surely have CPAs.

Agreed, would be so handy.

Virtual cards from pots too please.

… and Plus/Premium subscriptions and also :monzo: loan repayments too from designated pot(s).

This exactly. I know there’s extra logic to be built etc but this really should be the default when setting the occurrence of anything.

I think I’d like it to work like “I just paid a subscription to the RSPCA, I want that to always come out of my RSPCA pot” so whether that is my monthly direct debit or a extra fee, for buying something else, that’s sorted.

I guess the difficulty comes when I want the subscription to come from the pot, but not normal payments. Especially if there’s a bigger value and it could cause the transaction to be declined.

As the 79p for iCloud each month is a bit different to buying a new iPhone.

The fear I have here, is that the survey Monzo gave me said that in this scenario, the iPhone transaction would be declined, regardless of overall balance. Which I feel is a huge step back.

edit

Just checked the survey. This was actually in regard to bill pots, rather than payment pots. But I think the point still stands and I would imagine they’d both work the same in the end.

I feel the pain.

Working Cocker Spaniel :dog: , Leopard Gecko :lizard: and Dwarf Hamster :hamster: here.

Looks like nothing on paper but the support and costs to keep these family companions safe, happy and fed is insane.

Thread proper derailed :train: :boom:
