Spam or not…

Received the below text message today. I asked the AI chat assistant whether it was spam or not and it couldn’t tell me, just told me to freeze my card. I asked to speak to a human who also couldn’t confirm whether it was Monzo or not, they just told me to delete the text message.

I’d rather know whether the text was spam, or if somebody somehow has my card details/login details. It looks legit and fake at the same time. My card has been linked to Apple Pay for a while, and the only text messages I’ve received from Monzo, not a +44 number, is them confirming my card has been linked to Apple Pay.

Is anybody able to shed some light?

Thank you.

Scam.

Just report and delete.

Report spam and contact Monzo. What time zone are you in?

They’re banking on you replying N. They’ll then contact you telling you they need to secure your account because there’s a pigeon in your bank account or some nonsense to get your real details.

Definitely not UK or Ireland, unless it was taken yesterday, likely they’re abroad, hence the urgency

These AI scam tools aren’t great

It’s safe according to Bitdefenders SacmIO thing :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Tempted to call the number and see who picks up..

I wrote this post 4 days ago. I am in the UK, England specifically. I contacted Monzo and they couldn’t tell me whether it was them or spam.

I can’t delete them. What happens if I delete something important? The obvious thing to do is read them, I know. I can’t do that either.

Be my guest, Jo!

I trust spam emails more than I trust AI!

It’s taken 4 days for this post to be approved. Nothing else has come of it, luckily. I genuinely forgot I had wrote this.

I despise pigeons so I feel like they would’ve got me hook, line and sinker.
