Sorry we could not process your transaction reversal

Amazon do a £1 transaction instead of an active card check. Usually the Monzo app lets me claim the money back myself. But this time it says “sorry we could not process your transaction reversal”.

Is this a technical issue? Or have the rules around reversals changed?

Probably neither.

I don’t remember a guarantee that we’d always be able to reverse things so perhaps this is one of the times where they’re not permitting it,

‘We’ the customers i.e. the app won’t always let us do it ourselves.
