Is anyone else experiencing delays in getting the SMS Auth Codes for transactions.
on o2 and there seems to be delays of upto 30minutes, by the time the message comes through the transaction has timed out.
Also from other institutions it seems to be the same across all UK Networks.
I thought Monzo authorised in-app now instead of using SMS?
Not all transactions some merchants still don’t support it and it falls back to text messages, I’ve had a couple in the last few weeks which are text
SMS has no guaranteed delivery time (IIRC there’s a 72 hour limit after which the network gives up)… if O2 are busy 30 minutes isn’t that bad.
Obviously not ideal for merchants, which is why it’s rarely used for auth codes.
