When searching transactions using the magnifying glass icon on the Home screen, the app seems to search after inputting every letter, rather than wait for me to press ‘search’. So for example as I type ‘t’ it immediately starts searching for transactions with a ‘t’ in them. It means you have to type searches one letter at a time, very slowly.
Assuming this is a bug?
Running on an iPhone 13 Pro on iOS 18.2 and latest Monzo app (6.6.0).

Hi. Do you mean that you can only search one letter at a time, and there’s a delay before you can press the next letter? Or just the fact that it’s searching after every key press, because this is what happens to me on Android 14, Monzo App v6.6.0.
You could always try this:
IMPORTANT Restart your phoneI can type the entire word but the keypresses are delayed until it has searched that letter, if that makes sense. So if I type ‘fuel’ for example, I can press the f, u, e, and l keys quickly, but it will then take about 2-3 seconds for each key press to be registered in turn as it searches them one at a time.
Same issue here, started happening at some point in the last couple of weeks. There’s massive lag after every key press, as though it’s trying to search everything and return all results before I’m able to press another key.

The speed when typing into the search feature is seriously slow, it feels like with every letter I press the UI thread is blocked whilst the app performs the search - to the point that the keyboard animation on my phone (iOS) where the letter gets larger actually freezes.
Can a debounce be added or something? When typing out a name this is really painful.
Same here, sort of, on iPhone 16 pro it’s not super slow but it’s clearly much slower than intended / than it was before.

This was fixed however I’ve now noticed after typing the word in the search bar, the time it takes to search is a lot slower than it was, after they fixed the OP issue. It was super quick and now a couple weeks or so later it’s snarling up again.
