Scheduled direct debit issues

Hi,

I switched to Monzo in the middle of March opening a personal and joint account.

Generally I’ve been happy but my scheduled payments on my joint account are really messed up. My house insurance direct debit seems to set up as a new one every month, scheduled payments page is showing 4 direct debits for them now (the money only goes out once). Same for life insurance - have two direct debits with same company but 6 scheduled DDs in scheduled payments. Some have expected amounts next to them and some don’t.

I joined Monzo to feel more in control of my finances but two months later my Bills pot still doesn’t show an accurate monthly lay out due to these constant new DDs. Tried to call customer service previously but no one answering. Anyone else had the same issues or can offer any advice?

Thanks

I had this when I switched all those years ago. The advice I was given by Monzo customer services was as follows:

If all your direct debits come out around the 1st of each month. Leave it a week making sure they’ve all been taken. Then any that don’t have a date below them or an old date you can safely delete.

They didn’t reappear after this for me

I had an issue with some Direct Debits when I used the Current Account Switch Service. It took 2 or 3 months for 2 of my direct debits to stop creating new ones and use the same one. Advice from monzo chat was to cancel the older Direct Debits if you’re sure the new one is for the same service.

Edit: @Ordog beat me to it, what they said

Worth noting i don’t think it’s Monzo’s fault, seems to be an issue on some vendors end with a switch

Ok, thank you both for replying.

I’ll keep an eye on things and hopefully in a while I’ll be able to cancel some of the spare ones.

Thanks again
