Schedule Transfers from Pots to another Account

I want to schedule a transfer from a Joint Pot to a Personal (or Child) account.

Right now you have to schedule the money to come out of the pot and then schedule the money to move to an account which isn’t really ideal. Also not clear to me if the transfers in always happen before the tranfers out if done on the same day.

Unless I’m misunderstanding the requirement as described, this is already possible (certainly on :android:)

  • Go into the Pot you wish to regularly transfer FROM, tap on ’ - Withdraw’
  • Ensure the correct pot is in the ‘From’ section, if not, tap on it to select
  • Ensure the correct DESTINATION (Account/Child Account/Pot/Savings) is selected in the ‘To’ section, if not, tap on it to select
  • Tap on the ‘£ 0.00’ section to enter the amount to transfer
  • Enable the ‘Schedule’ and choose ‘When’ and the ‘Repeat’ pattern
  • Tap on ‘Schedule payment’

Yep you can defo already do this from a Joint Account, including to a new Monzo Kids account. I checked. Cos I’ve got one :slight_smile:

I am not seeing that. As soon as I choose another account the schedule option disappears

Ah. Now I understand.

The Schedule will only work if the Source Pot is scheduled to pay into the Pot’s Parent account as the destination, so:

  • If your Source pot is under your Joint account, then you can only schedule withdrawals from the pot to the Joint account
  • If your Source pot is under your Personal account then you can only schedule withdrawals from the pot to the Personal account

All other combinations CAN transfer, but manually (no scheduled payments) - EXCEPT FOR - the brand new Child accounts. It seems you can schedule payments into a Child account from a Personal OR a Joint account (but not from pots under those accounts)
