I remember the fall of RBS.
I remember as my dad was a share holder in RBS and he was stressing about losing alot of money as the Share Price fell from almost £50 a share to 50p a share.
Both of my parents where members of RBS Private at the time and ended up going to the branch and taking out a very large chunk of their savings and then putting it in Barclays Premier.
They both kept their account open and my dad still holds some shares in Natwest Group to this day but I think after the fall of RBS my parents don’t trust the Natwest Group much anymore.

It doesn’t. I had it bookmarked as I wanted an account but was in the process of getting a mortgage and didn’t want any hard searches between mortgage offer and completion so had to wait.
It just says “carrying out maintenance”.

Yeah the link to the old form was found using the Wayback Machine by a few people on this forum.
So I think the form was never meant to be used. I know that some people when using the form had issues getting access to the App and getting cards issued. So I think it was never meant to be used.
But with the popularity of the form over the last year or so I think RBS noticed and have shut down the form for good.

Not necessarily. Jo is under 18 and I think it only ever worked for 18+ current accounts.

How do you edit it like that, is it a native iOS thing?
Oh my goodness - that looks awful - is it like some scrolling thing to see the accounts now? Gone are the days of a quick cursory glance over balances

I never knew you could swipe back on any banking apps. I’ve always been pressing the arrows/back button
Rushed to open Monzo and tried swiping back instead and in the many years of being a customer I never knew you it was possible, so i guess thanks for that!

I’ve not got it either. For those that have it was it a push notification to update in the App Store?
I’ve got quite a lot of products from RBS. The condensed version is most welcome as it will save me scrolling to find what I’m looking for. Though others have said it doesn’t look good so will wait to see.

I’ve had it in the natwest app for a week or two but still not in the RBS app.
I reckon they’re probably doing some deliberately slow/phased roll-out.

Now that the old form for choosing a sort code has gone, has anyone (with Drummonds or Child and Co as their lead sort code) tried opening an additional current account in the app? I’d be interested to know if they still open new accounts under those sort codes in this way.
Yes, I had a Childs current account and CASSed it away some time ago. I kept a small savings account open at the Childs sort code.
Last week I opened a new current account and it went to a sort code local to me in Glasgow.
Not upset to be honest. But was interested that it didn’t default to Childs.

It wound be interesting to find out the other way round, if a new savings accounts opened under an existing child and co current account, still links to the c&c sort code.

I was going to say ‘I did that recently’, but it turns out that I opened my digital regular saver (which was given the same sort code as my current account) at the end of 2020. Time flies eh?

I got into the hype of opening a CC sort code account for the card and feel it was daft really. It’s just a standard RBS account which I never use.
