Hi I used my card for a car hire company to put a hold on a payment as a deposit that gets returned once they get car back
Payment says pending, any idea how long it takes to go back into my account?

If it’s anything like the car hire company that I use, they will tell you it’s been refunded but it hasn’t and the pending transaction will remain until the authorisation naturally expires after 7 days. I expect that they do not cancel the auth immediately as it gives them a time window to find any unspotted damages and charge them against the authorisation…

It can take 30 days for it to drop off technically, but it’s the rental company not releasing the funds, not Monzo.

If it’s anything like Apple, it’ll take 30 days, even if they’ve told you they released the charge, they won’t have
