I doubt they will bring the US “merchant from pot” feature to Ireland or UK, since they have Virtual Cards for pots.
You know you can add your virtual card to your mobile wallet (Apple/Google/Samsung/Garmin)? So when you are you out shopping, you can select your virtual card instead of your main card and it will come from the assigned pot.
With roundups, I don’t use it so can’t answer fully, but I believe all roundups go into a single pot. I know any card purchases from main balance will be rounded up, but not sure about Virtual Card pot purchases.
I’m aware of the option to create a virtual card and add it to Apple Wallet. I was just hoping to skip that extra step and have payments automatically go to the assigned pot instead.
It would help avoid accidentally using the wrong virtual card as well.
Thanks for the reply — I’ll wait and see what they say about round-ups. I’m not sure if others would want it to work the way I’m imagining.
Of course, I can always move money from my pots into my current account before spending, but I’m mainly trying to see if there’s a way to reduce the number of manual steps within the app.
Never say never, but for me, this is firmly in the “unlikely to ever happen” list. Monzo UK/Ireland might surprise us, but then it would make Virtual Card redundant (which is a selling point for the paid plans in the UK currently).
