Pot transaction details not showing up in Trends

Issue:

On the homepage “activity” section, if I edit a transaction that I transferred from a pot to the main account (change the category, add a description, etc), I don’t see the modified data on the Trends tab, it is still in the “Transfers” category and without the description that I had added from the activity section.

Details to reproduce:

  1. Transfer money from a pot to main account
  2. In the activity section, adjust the details for the transaction (change category, add description, etc)
  3. Go to the Trends tab and filter by your pot. The transaction is still in the “transfer” category and has no description.
  4. Now do the opposite (start from the Trends tab, editing the transaction there first)

You need to do it on the other side of the transfer.

What do you mean?

I’ve tried updating transaction details from both ends, and neither updates the other.

They don’t update each other. You now have to do it twice - change/enter once for the debit from pot to account (or vice-versa) and change/enter once for the credit to the account from the Pot (or vice-versa)

It USED to behave as expected (changing just one side carried through to the other) but then it seemed that regulations kicked in and Monzo ‘split’ pots away from the account for reporting purposes - this killed the category/description link too. Which is now why you also have a list of grouped Pot transactions at the end of a statement for an account which had/has pots linked to it.
