Monzo’s virtual cards have once again proven their value by blocking unauthorized active card checks from two American companies I have no association with.
The virtual card was deactivated in July 2024 after I canceled my Blinkist subscription. The card details weren’t provided to any other companies, yet today, several active card checks were attempted by “Matthew’s Attic” and “gosq.com Kaitlyn C,” both US-based. Fortunately, these attempts were rejected.
I have emailed Blinkist to inquire whether they have knowingly shared my payment information with these third parties or if they have experienced a data leak. I await their response…
