Plusnet

its crazy i was with vodafone before i joined plusnet as soon as i joined them i started to get scam calls pretending to be from bt group i changed to talktalk and them calls have stopped

So my PlusNet saga continues, they’re still under charging me which was what I posted last time, I’ve not spoken to them for at least 3 months today.

Today I open my postbox and I’ve got a tracked letter delivery from them saying we know you’re not a customer of ours anymore but we’ve reviewed your account and here’s Ā£150 that we owe you 🤦

Spoken to them are you sure you’ve not left us

erm you tell me you’re looking at my account aren’t you

well did you have an old account

Nope just this one

well we’ve not sent you a cheque

I beg to differ I’m physically holding it now and reading to you what it says, I’m not imagining it

Ok I’ll go check, do you have a mobile account

Yes I have both

Well it must be from them as we haven’t sent it, we’ll transfer you to them

Gets through to mobile and they start checking

No no it’s from broadband as we haven’t sent you anything

Look I’ve just spoken to them and they’ve transferred it to you

Do you have the cheque

Yes it’s in my hand

Ok well take a picture of it and email it to us with the letter and we’ll get someone to look into it

So that’s been sent off and I’ll wait to see what’s cocked up this time around, I know for a fact I’m not owed anything at all as technically it’s me who owes them as they’ve not fixed the underpayments. When will it end 🤦

How can I sign up to the deal you’re on?!

It’s nice in theory, until they turn on you. It wasn’t long ago they were under billing people, who were actively calling to resolve the issues and even making manual payments to rectify things, and Plusnet responded by listing some in default on their credit record.

It took the issue to reach the national press before they said they would remove the defaults, and the billing issues are still ongoing. Remarkable how they can continue to operate like this for such a long time.

If only I knew it averages out that about one every 4 months I get the billing system lottery and it does something to my account, so be around November time when the next mystery arrives

I’ve got it in writing that they won’t be chasing for any underpayments as it’s their issue and they’ll get it sorted, just so happens it’s still not sorted and now I’m getting that mystery cheque that doesn’t exist 🤦🤣

I left them a couple of years ago due to a minor dispute and their attitude that as we’re part of BT we can’t do wrong.
25 years ago I had a dispute with BT over charges for unmade calls to premium lines. Our equipment cannot be wrong they said. A few week later unexpected new bill with goodwill credit clearing the disputed charge. A few months later I read in local paper that engineer sentenced for tapping in on customer lines at exchange to make private calls to chat lines while working overnight.
I no longer trust anything to do with BT and avoid them and their equipment as far as I can.

We had billing issues with plusnet. We stick with them because they are cheap. My husband once managed to get a deal so good that every year when we had to renew the customer service representative couldn’t figure out how we had that tariff. That particular deal has crept up a little over the years, but is still competitive. We had a big issue when we moved because we couldn’t just move our custom, we had to end our contract and start a new one with the associated cancellation fees. I can’t remember how it was resolved in the end, but it can’t have been that bad because we are still with them (although maybe because the resolution involved a new contract?)

Wow. That’s outrageous.

Mobile team got back to me to say it’s not from them and I’ve have to ring broadband again, they’ve still no idea why I’ve got it, shows how crappy the billing system must be if it doesn’t even show a cheque refund being issued.

They’ve said to not cash it which I wasn’t going to do anything, wonder how long not until the next incident 🤦🤣

I’d cash the cheque and put it in a pot to earn interest while they faff around deciding if you can keep it or not :stuck_out_tongue: It’s ā€œsaferā€ in your account

It’s going in the shredder shortly, no point faffing around with them anymore than I need to this year
