What do I need to set up a Monzo account?

Signing up to Monzo takes minutes! And you’ll just need a few things to get started.

To open a Monzo account you need to be:

  • At least 16 years old
  • Living in the UK

All you’ll need is:

  • Your phone (with a camera)

  • A valid ID – we’ll accept your:

    • Passport
    • Driving licence (your provisional is fine)
    • National ID card
    • Biometric residence permit
    • Firearm or shotgun certificate
    • Electoral Identity Card issued by the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland

  • An address in the UK where we can send your card

  • About 10 minutes to sign up!

Curious as to the answer, obviously I don’t know as I already have an account - are the accepted documents listed in the signup flow? Does it say nothing else can be accepted? Questions on the forum over what is or is not accepted seem to crop up a couple of times a month? Of course it could be finding out before the signup flow is started I guess.
